Reluctantly I am selling my 1994 Mercedes G350DT (had to list it as a 1980 because of VIN). This is the rarest of the rare! If you are looking for a factory diesel G Wagen there are only a handful of these in the US so do not miss out on this one, you will not find another one! If you are looking at this you probably know what you are looking at but for those not familiar with the G Wagens these are the ultimate off road vehicles. They come with factory front, center and rear lockers. The pre-USA G-Wagens are considered the best, this is the most desirable being a factory turbo diesel! This one is extremely rare because of the addition of a TSH intercooler (http://www.tsh-dieseltechnik.de/tsh_en.htm) This engine as it is configured puts out in the neighborhood of 165 hp, the most powerful G Wagen until the G500! If you are interested in WVO this is also the ultimate engine for that, I have run it on a WVO/diesel blend occasionally and it runs great! This G Wagen has not been converted to english instruments, it is still in metric which means this vehicle was possibly not federalized? It does have a Texas title and when I bought it it came with a Delaware title. I am only stating this because you need to check with your state DMV to make sure you can title this in your state, all I know is Texas, Delaware and many other states are fine with it (probably not California). I have gotten used to the metric instruments, it is actually a learning experience! The isn't any rust at all, I did not include any pictures of the under side but it is extremely clean, I live in Texas and even by southern standards this is rust free, no worries there! A little background on this vehicle. I have owned it for about 2 years. The previous owner bought it with engine problems (it has an OM603 which does not have the best reputation) He had the engine rebuilt by Noels in Florida who is supposed to be very experienced with these engines. The rebuild included everything from block, rods and head all with the new stronger parts to solve the original problems with these engines. I bought this car with 175,000 kilometers on it and it now has 220,000 kilometers on it and have not had any mechanical problems, it runs like a top! Always starts immediately and runs great, I would (and do) drive it anywhere as my nearly 30,000 miles in less than 2 years shows! Since I have owned it I have had a couple leaks fixed in the A/C system, it now works flawlessly and keeps this big greenhouse of a car cool even on hot Texas days1 The cruise control brain was also replaced, it works great now. Turn signal, wiper stalk recently replaced. Everything I can think of works, there are a few dash lights on the rocker switches that don't work. There is also a slight pull to the right that is easily remedied with the addition of a spacer on the control arm. There is also a shimmy in the steering at highway speeds that goes away after you have been driving a few minutes, I have been told it is wheel balancing, I am going to have this checked this week. The tires are about 50% and are probably the cause of the shimmy. It does not use any oil, smoke, drip etc. The Mercedes diesels are extremely smooth engines, I love the way this thing drives! With that said, don't expect a modern vehicle, this is built for the most extreme conditions, it is fairly stiff and a bit noisy at highway speeds but again a real joy to drive. The front bumper has a little bend on the passenger side, it was like that when I got it and haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. If you don't mind turning the heads of every Hummer and Jeep driver this is the vehicle for you, also be prepared to answer plenty of questions about it too! I am starting the bidding pretty high but this is a no reserve auction!
