NO RESERVE!!! Up for grabs is a nice 1971 Volkswagen Super Beetle. 1971 was the very first year of the Super Beetle, which features McPherson Struts instead of the previous Torsion Beam setup. This improves handling and increases trunk space. This Bug was recently traded in on a new Honda. I am not an expert on these vehicles, so forgive me if I don't cover all the points. The previous owner was just starting a restoration project, but decided not to continue. True mileage of this vehicle is unknown. This Beetle is ready to go as is... but it would make an excellent candidate for a restoration. It has very little rust... mainly around the driver's side headlight bezel, and on the body below the front bumper. I crawled around beneath the car and didn't see anything scary. It runs and drives GREAT!. This was my first drive in a classic Beetle, and I was pleasantly surprised by the way it drove. It starts right up, and runs smoothly and quietly (for a Beetle). It has a 4 speed manual transmission that shifts well. The clutch feels strong with no chatter. It has NEW tires, and the wheels and hubcaps are in good condition. The interior is nice and clean. I am told the owner recently replaced the seats... they are very nice with no tears. The headliner is in place, and nice and clean. It has a CD player installed, as well as some Pioneer speakers. The only issues I've noticed on the interior are: The knob on the driver's side window crank has fallen off, so it's kind of a pain to roll the windows up and down - a CHEAP fix I'm sure. The Glove Box keeps popping open... not sure why. Like I said, I'm no Beetle expert, so feel free to ask any questions, and I'll do my best to get you the answers.
