Vehicle Detail
1970 Torino Convertible. No Reserve Auction Full restoration put on hold due to twins arrival. Wife wants garage back before it starts snowing. This is a very special Torino worthy of a full restoration. Details of the options are included in the attached Marti report. . This vehicle started out as a Ford executive car, hence the large number of options. I do have a little documentation to support that the mileage is correct. The mechanicals have been arefreshed. It runs great and can be cosmetically restored as you wish. It is fun to drive around as is and get plenty of thumbs-up where ever I go. The mechanical refresh included: - rebuilt front suspension - new leaf springs ain back - new shocks all the way around - new Magnum 500's with BF Goodrich TA's - balanced driveshaft and alignment - new pertronix ignition - new Holley carb - original mufflers left intact, but needs new exhaust pipes run to rear Needs a liitle bodywork and new paint. Car has some small rust spots (pictured), and a couple of small bodywork areas on the front valence and left rear cap (I will include the replacement parts as part of the purchase). The car spent a good portion of its life in a car collection in dry Utah before I brought it to dry Colorado, hence only a little rust. The paint has several touch-up areas. It was repainted once the original color, but not a very good paint job--looks good from 20 feet. Needs new top and a left convertible top bracket replaced (I have both the left and right replacement brackets that I am includng n the purchase.). I have a new convertible top that I will be auctioning off separately, but will give the car winner the first opportunity to purchase at 30% off Dearborn Classics retail price Needs some interior work. The front seat has some rips on the driver side (pictured) and the door panels have some rips on the bottom.. It also needs new carpet, although I am including the ginger floor mats in the sale, so it doesn't look bad. The electric window motors need lubing or replacing (I have new motors that I am including in the purchase). I have a complete new interior that I will be auctioning off separately, but will give the car winner the first opportunity to purchase at 30% off Dearborn Classics retail price. Reserve the right to end this auction early for a local sale On Sep-11-10 at 17:55:37 PDT, seller added the following information: I added some pictures of the 351 4V engine with both air cleaners that come with the car. The engine is original and it runs great. I also added some pictures of the underside and floorpan--this is an extremely solid car with just some minor surface rust underneath. The only rust spots that need attention are around the rear wheel that is shown in the pictures. I also took a picture of the replacement body parts that will come with the car. I also have the original AM/FM stereo that will go with the car, as well as the owners manual and sales brochure. The rare hood tach is also lighted and I showed a picture of that. This is a very solid car that runs great--you could fly in and drive it home. The fluids (coolant, engine oil, transmission oil, and rear en oil) have all been replaced in the last 500 miles. The new carb, ignition, and tuneup was also done in the last 500 miles
