Vehicle Detail
1987 Mercedes Benz 300 SDL Diesel 6 Cylinder 3.0 VIN WDBCB25D0HA283633 This has been my daily driver since Nov 2007. I’m interested in doing something else. I will give someone a good fair deal. It is for sale locally. Major items: 2010 new Michelin Primacy MXV4 (have receipt), New Radiator and AC compressor. 2009 had a new head installed (have receipt). 2008 Mercedes installed new AC controller and complete AC service. Sunroof-Operates with no issues. Dual Memory power seats-Operates with no issues. Power windows-All Operate with no issues. Instrument panel-Everything works as designed, except clock. Engine- (223k) All regular maintenance done, does not leak or use oil. Automatic Glow plug system works prefect. All glow plugs are good. (Done sense 2007-new air filter, serviced injectors, replaced alternator and starter, belt and hoses and anything else needed. CD/Radio-with auxiliary front input, all 4 old speakers have been updated, perfect sound and any volume. No issues with CD or auxiliary input. Works perfect. Transmission-Smooth shifting in all gears. Serviced with new filter and fluid. No leaks or issues. Duel Tanks-Does have duel tanks and WVO system. It is optional. If you do plan on using WVO, it works great. There is no noticeable difference in operating with diesel or WVO. If you do not know what WVO oil is then do not be concerned, you will fill up with diesel like normal. Cruise control-When it wants to. Some trips it works fine and others it does not engage. My family is an all diesel family. We currently have 4 87 Mercedes, 1 VW and 1 Chevy. Because we own 4 of these cars we are experts in the maintenance and service of this model. It has been completely serviced and is exceptional on the highway. I was pulling a hill in NC when a newer RAM diesel Cummins (empty load) was coming up fast in my mirror. I moved over to give him the preferred lane and when he was beside me (both of us accelerating) I was able to pull away from him. From experience, I do not know of any diesel out there that has the torque and power to pull away from this car. The motor is very strong. It does not smoke, even pulling a load. It’s a very clean burning engine. It may slightly smoke on startup.-not noticeable from the rear mirror. So this is a solid engine. This engine could see 500K or better before it might need anything. Delivery and Payment: If you win the auction, I can pick you up at the airport or bus station or meet you 50 miles outside of Knoxville, TN. I can also ship it as long as you make all the arrangements. I will need $100 non-refundable deposit to hold it and full payment with in 1 week. Good luck on the bidding.
