Vehicle Detail

I bought this MG a few months ago hoping my wife and I could enjoy it for the summer. I love the car, my wife not so much. I have driven it for a 4.5 hour road trip and around town to work and back daily since then. I have put over 1500 trouble free miles on it. The car runs and drives great and has been very dependable; it starts right up and idles well. The motor sounds great and it runs through the gears smoothly and accelerates strong. I was told the tires are a few years old but they are almost new with 90% tread left. Most everything works in the car but the radio face plate from the JVC is missing although the base and speakers are in the car. The speedometer works but bounces around at higher speeds. The odometer is working. The top has a tear on the left hand side that has been taped over and is visible in the photos. It appears that the MG was repainted, changing the color from the original dark red to white. The paint looks good from 15 feet but on close inspection you can see that the quality of the repaint was not great. The original color can be seen in the drivers door jam and when the hood and trunk are opened in the sill areas. The way the engine looks and runs makes it possible for me to believe that the 60,500 miles showing on the odometer could be true but I have no way to know for sure. The body and suspension are in unrestored condition. You can see some rust and marginal body work under the paint as I have tried to show in the photos. There is rust on the top of the drivers floor as is common on these cars due to rain leaking in, but it does not appear to go through and the floor is solid. The MG has new high intensity lights, and the original service manual with metal ID card is in the glove box. The record indicates it was bought new in San Antonio Texas. I purchased it from a guy in Virginia who told me he had been the third owner. The car is a unrestored driver quality vehicle that is dependable, a lot of fun to drive and looks respectable. Reserve is low. My mistake will be someone's gain. The car has a clean Florida title and is being sold in "as is" condition with no warranty express or implied. The winning bidder will have to pay a $500 deposit within 48 hours via PayPal, with the remainder due within 7 days in the form of cash, certified/cashiers check, or direct wire transfer. Any check will have to clear before the car will be released for transport. The buyer is responsible for transport, although I can help on my end. Please call 513 884 7228 with any inquiries.
