Vehicle Detail

This car has been a member of my collection for the last couple of years. As a lifetime car lover and 25 year collector, I have appreciation for vintage autos of this caliber. My passsion for vehicles from primarily the 1960's to the early 70's has always made my garage a happy place. I pursued owning this Nova for a full year before finally being able to make it mine. I was drawn to the quality of the car immediately. Keeping track of the total investment in this car seemed meaningless once the $60,000 mark was reached. An intelligent guess at this point is a build cost that approaches nearly $65k over a 4 year period and 2100 miles since completion. The drivetrain, body/paint and interior are outstanding. Skilled workmanship is apparent throughout the entire car. Cold Air-conditioning and power windows are just a couple additions to an already incredible car. For those that prefer the longer version of a story, here it is: Body and paint have been done to a very high standard. All panels have excellent gaps, alignment, fit and finish. Sighting down the sides of the car is impressive. No waviness or washboard effect. The paint is stunning. It's applied evenly and has an extremely smooth finish. The paint holds an exceptionally high shine and gloss. Clear reflections are visible in every panel. That's normally a statement reserved for black exteriors but the deep blue on this car has achieved the same results. All chrome, glass, stainless trim, moldings and emblems, etc, are excellent. The exterior condition is obvious from the first second your eyes focus on the car. Compliments are a common occurance every time I open my garage door and even more so when I take her out in public. Every flattering remark is well deserved. The car is simply gorgeous and surpasses being show worthy. The interior is outstanding and does a wonderful job of blending updated components with quality custom work without taking away from the cars true heritage. I have very few claims to fame regarding this car but one thing that I do get credit for is the seats. They are 1969 Super Sport bucket seats that I had done to match the interior. That detail alone was $1400. Everything inside the car is excellent. Door panels, carpet, headliner, center console and the entire dashboard area are beautiful. All lights, digital gauges, heater/AC, etc, are fully functioning. The sound system consists of an Alpine CD unit and high-end speakers with an amplifier that were all professionally installed. The power windows operate perfectly. Another improvement I added to the car was the swing-away feature on the roll bar which made entering and exiting the car much easier. A tilt steering column is just another update the car has received. The interior needs no excuses. Where do I start my description of the drivetrain? I'll stick to the major items in this part of the write-up and provide specific mechanical data to those who request it. The motor is a GM built 502 (castings on block) with Ram-Jet Fuel injection that accomplishes amazing performance and reliability all in one. No expense spared in the engine compartment. Just about everything under the hood is chrome or highly polished. It is one of the nicest engine bays you'll ever see and the upcoming photos will document that fact. Serpentine belt system with Air-conditioning, high-flow water pump and aluminum radiator. And although every aspect of the car is impressive, the engine compartment is nothing short of spectacular. The transmission is a Turbo-350 that has been built to withstand the horsepower of the 502 and it shifts perfectly. The rear-end is a narrowed 12 bolt with 4:56 gearing and positraction, of course. DISC brakes on all 4 corners. Mickey Thompson tires front and rear with custom made and matching wheels. There aren't words that describe how the car sounds. Just sitting at idle or on acceleration the car has an agressive tone that's music to a "car guys" ears. Appearances can be a little deceiving. She is a very user-friendly car. It starts easily, has a mellow idle and predictable performance but make no mistake, she is capable of pressing your back to the seat with very little throttle. Probably not a car for an inexperienced or timid driver. The car has NEVER been down a drag-strip. I'm curious what her 1/4 mile time would be but she was generally built for show. The photos will complete the story. All of my eBay experiences have been enjoyable as I've rotated through and sold members of my collection over the years. I'm grateful for the kind comments I've received in my transaction history. My opinions have served me well and I stand behind them but please keep in mind that these are my personal opinions and they may differ from your own. I welcome showing the car in person to anyone with genuine interest. There are around 90 photos to view and they do an accurate job of depicting her real-life appearance. It is my intention to make this as close to you seeing and touching the car for yourself as possible. Feel free to click on the "ask a question" link here in the auction and I will respond to all polite questions. Phone calls are great too. My phone number is 503-887-1231 and calls between 8AM and 8PM Pacific time are just fine. My auction runs for 7 days and is scheduled to end on Tuesday evening, the 28th of September at 7:30PM Pacific. I reserve the right to end my auction early in the event I accept an offer and the car becomes no longer available. PLEASE, read my terms of sale located near the bottom of this screen. I'm a kindhearted person but I will not bend on these basic terms unless previously discussed during the auction. A little communication goes a long way. NO RESERVE AUCTION I did not set a reserve price on my Nova. All that I ask in return is for your bids to be real and your intent to purchase be sincere. My offer of answering questions is genuine so please don't hesitate to contact me. Every picture was taken by me with my handheld Canon digital camera. No photo has been altered or enhanced in any way. This is my car and this is what she looks like. Thanks for your time, DAVE Please note: I just had stainless exhaust tips installed. They are tasteful and really added to the look when standing at the rear of the car. All chrome, lenses and bright-work are excellent. Magazine worthy photo. Just my opinion. There isn't enough time to explain the man-hours, effort, skills and expense that were invested in this area alone. I really don't drive the car all that often but at least twice a week I open the hood and stare at the detail and quality that went into the engine compartment. Thousands and thousands of dollars rest here. Terms of Sale: 41yr old vehicle being sold AS-IS: Please read and agree with the following: I have described my car honestly, to the best of my ability based on 25 years of owning and driving classic cars. I have faith in the drivability of this car and to my knowledge everything is in fine working order per my main description. I have free and clear Oregon title in my possession and registered in my name. I drive this car without worry but she is over 40 years old and routine service and repairs should be expected. If you are not comfortable with a sight-unseen purchase, please come see the car for yourself or have an independent inspection performed PRIOR to bidding. I will not be responsible for the decisions of others. I would appreciate the winning bidder contacting me immediately upon end of auction just so the lines of communication are opened. My number is 503-887-1231. A $1000.00 deposit is due within 48 hours of auction ending, preferably through PayPal, just so we are both protected. Wire transfers and verifiable cashier checks are also acceptable. I'm an easy going person so if you need to make special financial arrangements just let me know BEFORE you bid and I'll try to help. I have been with the same bank here in Portland for over 8 years and the Management staff knows me. You are welcome to contact them for your own security if you like. The remaining balance is due within 7 calendar days of auction end in the form of secure funds. Some banks and credit unions do not finance vehicles of this vintage. Make sure if you are financing that your financial institution accepts the year and value of this vehicle before bidding. Please have your method of payment arranged prior to auction ending. TRANSPORT - SHIPPING I am happy to be an active and hands-on part of this process from start to finish but the buyer is ultimately responsible for pickup or shipping of this vehicle and any pre-purchase inspections need to be done BEFORE auction ending. If you wish to have it shipped using a service, I will gladly assist in loading and be present for the transport condition form or other reasonable help. Locating a transporter is the buyers responsibility but I can make recommendations and share the relationships I've built. Vehicle transport has become very reasonable. I personally use a privately owned trucking company. Dennis is a great guy and his direct number is 503-343-4884. He is based here in Oregon and has handled my transport needs perfectly for the last 4 years with careful handling, excellent rates and fast service even all the way to the East Coast. Dependable Auto Shippers (D.A.S.) is a transporter that eBay recommends and my experiences with them were just fine. My location zip code is 97214. Coast-to-Coast transport is around $1500.00 and even less the closer you are to Oregon. Shipping to Australia, Europe and other Countries has also become affordable and easy to arrange. I have experience in these types of transports as well. If you are outside of the United States or Canada, you MUST contact me BEFORE bidding. If you are an eBay member with negative history or have a (0) or low transaction number, I need to hear from you just to verify your sincerity and accept your bids as genuine. We all started from (0) and I'm happy to give a leg up. I reserve the right to cancel bids for these reasons. Communication is all I ask. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time if the vehicle is no longer available or otherwise SOLD.
