1991 BMW 318iS (E30) Up for sale is my 1991 BMW 318is. This is a timeless classic vehicle, and this model is very rare to find. The 318iS was named the best handling E30 apart from the M3, the engine was beautifully rev-happy and it was a true sports car. It is Black (Diamondschwarz Metallic) with a Tan leather interior. 5 speed manual 177k on the body, 137k on the engine iS ///M sports package with lip spoiler and front lip THE INTERIOR: The interior is tan leather. It has the BMW sports package, with the Recaro BMW sport bucket seats which are in FLAWLESS condition. The rear bench seats have a little fading on the lower part but overall the interior is in pristine condition. The dashboard is in new condition, NO CRACKS. Carpet is clean. The stereo is original BMW, and has BMW premium rear speakers, gets good reception. A/C is cold, runs strong. Sunroof works flawlessly, you can open it all the way or tilt it upwards. The interior looks great, the buttons, panels, dials, look good for a 19 year old car. THE EXTERIOR: The paint on one side of the car is glossy and the other side faded. On the faded side, on some areas the paint is cracked including the hood. It could use a nice buffer/claybar wax or simply new paint on half the car. There is one small rust spot on the rear right fender, and there is a rust spot on the bottom of the left front fender. The car comes with an extra fender in the trunk if replacement is desired. The body is CLEAN, the underbody is RUST-FREE, only a few little screws and bolts have rust which can be replaced for cents on the dollar. Overall as a shell, the body metal is straight and in great condition. BMWs this old are usually covered in rust and holes, not this one. THE NOT-SO GOOD: The car used to have an engine which needed head work, so instead of spending money on fixing the bad engine, a new one from another 1991 318is with 137k miles was swapped in. The new 137k mile engine ran and drove great before the swap, NO NOISES, NO LEAKS, NO ISSUES before the swap ran STRONG. When we did the full swap and put everything toghether, the engine started and turned-off immediately. We thought it was the fuel pump so we checked it and put in a newer one. The fuel pump works perfectly but it still did the same thing We checked the compression, we got 150psi and 160psi in the cylinders, which is GREAT for a 1991, this engine has PLENTY of life left in it. We then checked fuses, the MAF, but nothing. We got it to start one time with starter fluid for about 10 seconds and it turned-off again. We put another wiring harness in it but still the same problem We did not check the sensors. With all the complicated symptoms we eliminated, the problem is most likey easy and cheap. We simply dont have time anymore and would like this sold, our loss is your gain! There is a spare wiring harness, ECU, and fender in the trunk. Car is sold as-is. Come see it for your self, you wont be disappointed! OVERALL: - Great interior, tan leather Recaro BMW Bucket seats, flawless condition - besides two spots, the body and specifically the underbody are RUST FREE - with factory built in 4.10 Limited Slip Differential - Five speed Manual Transmission - All switches, buttons work great, windows and sunroof work flawlessly - Low mileage engine at 137k, tests show it is in amazing condition with plenty of life left - Dashboard is flawless, no cracks - Speedometer and Tachometer (RPM Gauge) as well as odometer all work great - Wheel are good with good tires - Easy fix COMPARED TO THE BMWs OF THE SAME MODEL (E30) AND EVEN THE SAME YEAR THAT IVE PERSONALLY SEEN, THIS IS IN BETTER CONDITION THAN 90% OF THEM. THIS CAR IS WORTH ALOT IN PARTS ALONE, i.e. SEATS, LSD, BUMPERS, DASH, etc. You will need it shipped or towed, it doesnt run for longer than a few seconds, then turns off Email me if you would like my phone number to speak in person.
