Vehicle Detail
1958 MGA convertible in great condition. Beautifully restored about 3 years ago, runs great, a real sweetheart of a car. It's a slightly sparkly British Racing Green paint with beige interior. There is no rust at all, everything works as expected, new battery this year, drives beautifully. I take it to local car shows and drive around with my wife every week or two, but otherwise it is kept inside. The engine is the MG 1500 with dual carburetors for that classic British roadster sound. A very knowledgeable buyer came and looked at the car the last time it was up for auction, and found a few small things that I didn't even know about the car, which I want to acknowledge. The first was the brakes, which were grabbing and not working right at all, so I had those completely redone with a new master cylinder and four new slave cylinders. Another was a little bit of bondo in the sills and in one rear fender that I didn't realize was there, because it was so well done. I suppose all cars of this age have a little bondo in them. The major body parts are solid, rust-free, and bondo-free, though, including the doors, the bonnet/boot, pillars, front fenders, etc. It's really a great body on this car, right down to the floorboards (wood, just like the originals, and all replaced during the restoration). The body panels reflect light in straight lines down the curves, which shows just how straight the body is. I want to be straightforward about everything I know about this car, which is why I mention all of this. I bought this a couple years ago from a private collector in Florida, and it has been kept in a climate-controlled warehouse ever since. I have to sell it, due to financial hardship. The starting bid is 10k less than I paid for it, so bid away to own this wonderful motor car! Questions welcome, local inspection encouraged. The car is in Redwood City, CA.
