Vehicle Detail
Motorcycle is located in Cleveland, Ohio. I am listing it for a friend. Rare 1971 Suzuki T500 Titan street bike. I have gone through this entire motorcycle and rebuilt the top end with new rings, light cylinder honing and new gaskets. It has excellent compression on both cylinders. The carbs have been overhauled and tuned. Starts right up and idles smooth and nice. You can either burble down the road like an old grandma or catapult yourself down the road like a rocket, your choice. Hold on for the second option! The motor is a 2 stroke, twin cylinder power plant with a 5 speed transmission. The bottom ends on these bikes are virtually bulletproof with roller bearings on the crankshaft and transmission. The 2 cycle oil injection system works well so you do not have to manually mix the gas and oil. They are excellent candidates for Vintage AHRMA road racers so you don’t see many in original form anymore, especially the earlier years. This one runs very nice and shifts through the gears with ease. The clutch is smooth and does not slip or grab. All the switches and controls work as designed. The headlight and tail light work good. As do the turnsignals. The 2 cycle oil injection system works well so you do not have to manually mix the gas and oil. Both front and rear tires are new with little wear.. The seat is nice and firm with no rips or tears. The seat pan is solid. All the chrome is original and clean with minor surface pitting/rust which is typical on a 40 year old Japanese motorcycle. The exhaust is complete with good baffles in both mufflers. There are no cracks, holes or rust in the mufflers. There is new paint on tank and sidecovers and it is exactly as original in color. I have also added European handlebars and bar end mirror for a more comfortable ride when on the highways. This bike is an excellent commuter which also delivers great gas mileage along with very obvious vintage looks and sounds. How many 2 stroke street bikes do you see on the road anymore? New Hagon shocks Avon tires GT front end with drilled Rotor and new brake pads. Magura master cylinder this thing stops for sure no fading brake problems with this setup. I will assist with shipping as much as possible. I can deliver to a loading facility in Berea,Ohio for no extra charge or can store the bike in my shop, again for no extra charge, as long as the bike is paid for in full. You can get a free quote for shipping at funtransport.com or get multiple quotes bid to ship the bike at Uship.com Please feel free to ask questions or request additional pics, thanks and good luck!On Aug-29-10 at 05:39:31 PDT, seller added the following information: The engine has been completely redone with a rebuilt crank, oil modification. Engine has been ported to Stage I specs by Sundial Moto Sports of Virginia. Heads have been milled and pistons modified for better oiling. Very few miles since engine work was done. The front end is a 1976 GT500. Triple clamps are GT550, tapered bearings, The forks are GT500 as well as the wheel and fender. The internals of the forks are GT550 and are better as the front end was off a race T500 used in AHRMA Historic Production. A steering damper has been add as noted in one of the pics. Rear wheel as a Cannondale 2.15 x 18 with new stainless spokes. Shifter has been shortened for more precise shifting as the stock one was too long and made false shifts too frequent. This porting works well with stock pipes and aftermarket chambers. Chambers will give a better power to weight ratio. Retaining the stock airbox with chambers will give you some added bottom end as opposed to individual filters. The stock original front end will be included with this bike. It would take very little to bring it back to stock trim.
