Vehicle Detail
Well, she has to go because we are moving and will have no room. This is a really nice 1970 Chevrolet Camaro that does need a few things to complete. Let's start with what has been done. First off, this is a regular camaro which came with a 307. I do have this engine, it runs and it is the matching numbers engine for this car. I also have the protect-o-plate which came with the car when it was new. I bought this car three years ago, and two years ago, I completely removed the front end all the way down to the frame. We then cleaned and repainted the frame, replaced all brake lines with a repo kit(yes, they are correct), installed new brakes, a-arm bushings, shocks, power steering hoses, radiator and radiator support, new clamps, all new wiring harnesses (both the engine harness and the light harness), and dropped in a re-built 1986 L98 corvette engine with aluminum heads. The engine has been broke in using EOS supplement from GM. The rebuilt engine also has new bearings, rings, new cam(edelbrock performer), new matching springs, new edelbrock aluminum intake manifold, new Holley 4 barrel (vac secondaries) , new oil pump, double roller chain and sprockets (cloyes) holley fuel pump, electronic conversion ignition, new wires, gaskets, etc. Runs great. The paint is still a easy 7 out of 10, and there is NO RUST on his car. I did replace the front wheel wells because they has started to bubble. The wells are new aftermarket. Also replaced the heater core and hoses. The car lso has brand new Cooper Cobra tires, and we installed a set of Z-28 rims which we re=blasted and repainted. This also includes all new trim rings and center caps. This really a nice car, it is very clean and it is solid as a rock. No rust underneath at all! When I bought it, I learned from the party I bought it from that the car had sat for years in a garage without being driven. This would explain the body/frame condition. Again, car show nice. I won a trophy the first time I took it to a cruise! Now for the issues... Overall, the interior is super clean. There is a small rip in thr bottom corner of the drivers seat. You will see it in the photo. Also, the vinyl flap which covers the trans hump between the rear seats is torn. That's in for the interior. Headliner is great. There is a small antifreeze leak at the front on the engine which puddles up in the front of the intake. It is very small, and the car has not over-heated. I have not taken it apart to fix it, but did re-torque the intake bolts. The car needs a battery, and the last issue is that the transmission is leaking fluid. We had the trans out to install a shift kit, front seal, and new trans lines. It looks like it is leaking from the front seal, but I am not sure. Lastly, the hood needs to be repositioned. We have tried it several times, and probably don't have the correct spacers in between the fenders and body. It does have new hinges and springs, and the hood is not bent. I would fix everything if I was to keep it, but at this point it is not an option. Again, I am being honest and want to point out these issues. It will not take much to get it all ready. Really, you need to see it to appreciate it . I will include the original 307 engine as well. It is mounted on a stand. Please come and check this out.I have zero negative feedback and have sold cars before. You can email me and I will respond with my cell number. I am in Hudson, NY which is about 35 miles south of Albany or 110 miles north of NYC. You can reach my home phone at 518-822-1364 between 10AM and 8PM. On Aug-24-10 at 14:51:18 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello. Just to let you know, the casting numbers on the Vette engine are: V0219ZKA. Also, I have lowered my reserve, and at this reserve I am losing my shirt. I just know I cannot keep it. Thanks again I am relisting the car with the reserve $500.00 below what it just was. You guys were almost there, within hundreds. This is the last time I will list it on Ebay.
