I'm selling this 1999 BMW 540i M-Sport sold as Salvaged/Parts car. This car has a Salvaged title from South Carolina from 2006 and it was light impact at 78,000 miles. I just don't have it in my heart to take it apart and sell it. It runs and drives anywhere, but isn't supposed to be driven on the road because of the title. Please read on... Here's my 1999 BMW 540i M-Sport. I can not tell you how nice and sexy this 540i is. Drives just as awesome as it looks, handles like a rocket on rails. Recently serviced and has a new battery. I would drive it to Cali or Maine, no joke. The 4.4l 282hp/324tq V8 is a monster! Sport shift 5-speed transmission shifts smooth and on time. It is chipped with a awesome sounding Flowmaster 40 .straight piped from there cats back with 2.5" tubing. The resonators have been removed, and the car does pass emissions. People tell me it sounds like a 4.6L Mustang and I love the way it sounds. As you can see that car has been blacked out, I alot of time and energy was spent getting it to what you see here now. The paint is very glossy and shines like a star. I replaced the halogen junk with Xenon headlights with Hella housings, Hella tailights that painted with black clear coat, not some cheap overlay window tint. The wheels are factory BMW wheels and have been professionally painted satin black and the tires are in great shape wearing evenly. The brakes stop very well with no shaking, pulling or strange noises. I have a factory spare that is painted to match also, no donuts here! Please excuse the "M5" badge, the "5" is gone now and it only sports a M/// badge. The rear bumper is off a 528i and isn't the factory 540i bumper. I like the look of the smooth bumper, instead of a gaping hole on one side for the exhaust. The inside is super nice. M-Sport 3 spoke steering wheel with all the controls, woodgrain, sunroof, COLD A/C and power everything. There are no stains, rips or tears in the leather/carpet. And it doesn't look like a fat person wore the driver's seat out either. Not bad for an 11 year old car. This car doesn't need anything but there are a few items that aren't perfect and I would like to mention no matter what.... I know the car needs a ABS module. The car functions fine, I have just never replaced it. It works most of the time but sometimes the light comes on along with the EML light and SES. I have found them here on Ebay for $100-200. It's not a hard part to change out, it sits on the passenger side near the strut tower. Please understand the car stops very swiftly and it will put you through the windshield. Airbag light on. Pixels sometimes go out, but rarely, comes with ownership of ANY BMW product! Both front and rear cup holders are gone to the "land of dead cup holders". If you know anything about a these 5-series, they are prone to break just by listening to a sad song on the radio. They are the worst design since a Audi.... The radio works fine with my IPOD, I just have a hard time picking up stations. Owners manual is missing. There is a star in the windshield. Passenger side window won't roll down. I encourage anyone to view and test drive the car before bidding. I have 100% positive feedback and I try to describe my auctions as best as possible, but my opinons may differ from someone else's.
