Thank you, and happy bidding! On Aug-24-10 at 22:10:14 PDT, seller added the following information: *EDIT* Received a question regarding the Saleen, Inc recalls. 1) New Saleen Catback - When Saleen first released the 2005 S281's, the catbacks had a bypass valve in the mufflers. It would funnel exhaust through the center exit tips at low RPM's, but during high RPM's the bypass valve would open up and send exhaust gases through a dump section in the muffler. It was later recalled because the bypass valve eventually would make a clunking noise as it opened and closed. Saleen replaced all the 2005 catbacks with an identical catback, but minus the bypass valve. 2) New Saleen steering wheel logo. The 2005 Saleen steering wheel logos had a weak adhesive. The Saleen "S" logo would peel off. Saleen replaced the logo with a new logo with a stronger adhesive. 3). New Saleen slotted headrests. Early 2005 S281 headrests were prone to having the slotted sections warp. Saleen replaced the headrests with a slotted headrest with stronger vent plastic that did not warp. Received a question about tire tread depth. 1) Front tires have about 35% tread left. Rear tires have about 50-55% tread left. Tires will eventually need to be replaced within the next 12,000 miles. On Aug-24-10 at 22:37:55 PDT, seller added the following information: The OEM Saleen supercharger and Brenspeed Stage 2 kit/accessories were professionally installed by techs who specialize in high performance and high horsepower automotive installations. I oversaw the entire installation personally. I can vouch for the work performed and feel completely confident in it. The car runs absolutely perfectly and drives perfectly. The car has never had a problem due to the Saleen supercharger. Saleen twin screw blowers put a lot of stress on the factory Ford serpentine belt tensioner and most tend to bend or break eventually....thus causing the belt to jump a rib and shred. My car has the Roush Racing P51 tensioner, which comes stock on all Roush P51 supercharged mustangs. Coupled with a 90MM idler pulley, the setup provides a secure belt to the pulleys and less belt slip. The car has NEVER experienced a shredded belt or even a rib slip because of this. The car is actually more reliable than a stock Saleen S281 SC, which often come with a leaner tune from Saleen. The car comes with a SCT handheld computer programmer which handles engine management with the Saleen supercharger. This is the same tuner used by Saleen to tune their S281 Extreme cars. The car has been tuned by Brenspeed (www.Brenspeed.com), the largest Saleen tuning company in the nation. Their experience and expertise in Saleen SC tuning provides for the most safe and reliable tune available. The car does NOT run lean and has a 11:1 Air/Fuel Ratio, which is an ideal combination for supercharged vehicles. Because of the excellent tune, the car runs and drives like a stock Mustang. You'll never know this car is supercharged until you put your foot into it...and the only way I can describe it is "a violent jolt of increasing power". The car gets 17MPG in the city and about 20MPG on the highway. I've been around Saleen Mustangs for 12 years, and have owned several. I can tell you with complete confidence that this is a well taken care of vehicle with no known problems or issues. The new owner will be happy for many years to come.On Aug-25-10 at 09:04:41 PDT, seller added the following information: * The car has been tuned to run safely and efficiently on a minimum of 91 octane fuel. *On Aug-27-10 at 13:16:01 PDT, seller added the following information: Received another question... My Saleen is a NON-SMOKER car. Interior and the Saleen black leather seats are in outstanding condition. I can't even recall anyone sitting in the rear seats more than perhaps 1 or 2 times in the time I've owned the car.
