Vehicle Detail
allthatflys store 1966 El Camino 350 V8 and 700R4 overdrive- Fun Cruiser Up for sale is a nice 1966 Chevrolet El Camino. It's a great driver and turns heads everywhere. The 350 has plenty of power and the 700R4 transmission makes it a joy to cruise down the highway without the motor just screaming away. The 3.06 1st gear ratio gives it great take off, but without the low gearing. The motor runs 2000 RPM at 70 mph down the highway and gets around 16-17 miles per gallon! There are no leaks from the motor, trans, radiator, or differential to drip on your garage floor! Motor starts with just the bump of the key and idles smoothly. It runs super, drives tight, and everything is in working order. The wipers and washer work perfect (new motor and pump, bottle and hoses). The turn signals work (and cancel) and has a new cam and switch contacts cleaned and lubed. The temp and oil pressure lights are functional with new senders, all the lights in the dash work, the speedometer and odometer work. Brake lights, tail lights, back up lights, even the original clock in the dash works! Here's the details; Motor: Chevy 350 Double hump heads Torker intake with 650 Holley 4175 spreadbore carb New ProComp 50KV HEI and Taylor pro wires Headers with dual exhaust and Borla ProXS mufflers for a good, but not overbearing sound Driveline: 700R4 later version with 30 Spline input (2 years old) Lockup in 4th gear with adjustable vacuum switch- 100% automatic (no switches, dials, ect) New slip yoke, u-joints, and balanced drive shaft Axle bearings and seals are new. Interior New seat upholstery, carpet, door panels, arm rests (and bases), dash pad New windshield new window felts and glass runs (no more rattling doors!) Retractable lap belts New walnut steering wheel Turn signal cancel cams The brakes are original standard drums in good working order. The car does have power steering and a tight front end. A fresh alignment was done last month. The front springs and shocks have been replaced to restore the correct ride height and handling, along with a new set of air shocks on the back. The wheels are reproduction 15x8 Chevy Rallys with 235/60/R15 BF Goodrich Radial T/A's and fit nicely. All in all, this is a very nice driving classic. Is it not a $35000 Barrett Jackson find, but a nice, solid reliable driver that you'll love to be seen in . It's almost annoying, as everyone has to talk to you about it at the gas station, intersections, parking lots-you get the point. This is a 45 year old vehicle. It is a nice driver but not perfect. There are a few paint chips that have been touched up, an occasional squeak or rattle, and a little wear here and there, but is an overall nice ride. I have over $9000 invested in this ride, and a ton of elbow grease, so someone is going to get a great ride, without the work and the "nickel and dime" issues associated with old cars. I'm a picky ASE master mechanic, so rest assured all my work is done right. This is being sold AS-IS, without any warranty (expressed or implied) due to the vehicle being almost 45 years old. I have a free and clear title (in my name). I will take cash, or a LOCAL cashiers check that I can verify. I also don't offer any shipping, but you'll want to drive this home anyway. Please feel free to ask questions before you bid. I can be reached at 405-412-8104 or through e-bay e-mail. I have this for sale locally, so I do reserve the right to cancel bids and end the auction if it sells to a local buyer first. Please don't ask for the reserve price, as I won't disclose it. Bid to buy. If you don't meet the reserve, you are not committed to it! I'm sure you wont buy a 1966 El Camino for the reasonable reserve I have set. (but to make you feel better, it's under $7000). Also, I don't want any trades. This car is being re-listed due to a non-communicating/paying buyer. You must contact me prior to bidding if you have less than 10, or any negative feedback. A $200 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is required to cover the cost if you don't complete the transaction per the auction rules. Payment and pickup is due within 7 days of the end of the auction-period!
