1968 Mustang 289 A very nice and original example of a 68 Mustang for your consideration. It was driven almost every day last year, but this summer it has spent most of its time in my garage. It's an original 289 car with the original engine. It starts and runs well, with no smoke and is a nice package in the car. It's a 3 speed auto with a low ratio rear end.. I believe it's 2.73. The previous owner says the miles are original. The car looks great, but I've taken a few quality pictures so you be the judge. The tires look new and the brakes work well. The chrome and trim are decent overall. The car isn't a #1 100 point show winner, but I would call it a very nice driver. The underside is solid. I don't know if the floor pans are new or not but they look excellent. Someone installed an in-dash dvd player which works fine. Overall the car is really nice and needs only little things. I noticed one backup light is out, and I don't think the left front marker light works. A couple of the gauges work intermittently, which I was told is probably just a ground needing to be cleaned. The carburetor was rebuilt and it also has been upgraded to HEI style distributor. I do have the original air cleaner, it was removed to show the rebuild carb. It doesn't have any rust visible on the exterior besides a couple bubbles above the drivers door. It leaks a little oil and the underside of the drivers door does have some rust, but I haven't found any elsewhere. Pics and video below.
