This is an original 2 owner California Mercedes 300CD with all the records since the car was new . It comes with the stamped Mercedes service book and the receipts for the last 25 years . This car was originally sold in the end of 1985 as one of the last 300CD coupes at  the Mercedes dealer in Newport Beach /CA . The original owner kept it for 21 years and sold it in 2006 to the second owner in Huntington Beach /CA . Both owners took excellent care of this wonderful car as you can see by the extensive and complete maintenance this car has enjoyed . This car drives as good as it looks . No expense was ever spared on it . If you do maintain these cars like this one , they truly will last you a lifetime . Generally they are very low maintenance cars . If you do keep up the regular oil changes , tires and brakes you will be able to avoid most mayor repair bills . The last costly thing was the complete rebuilt of the transmission at 164k miles in 2007 . Now it should last you another 160k miles . If you have any questions , feel free to ask . Since i do have all the records , i will be able to look it up in no time .   This car was finished in anthracite grey (anthrazitgrau) (MB color code 172) with black MB-Tex interior . The body and the paint are in excellent condition all around . There are no dings ,dents or scratches . Since it always only resided in sunny California , there is also absolutely no rust . Both previous owners had the means to baby this car from day one . This car was always garaged and it shows .  The interior is very clean . There are no rips or tears in the seats and the carpets are clean . Even the wood is still in excellent condition . The first aid kit and the cover are like new. The pictures will show you better than i can tell you .   The spare wheel has never been out of the car and still looks like brand new . There are also the jack and the original tools . But the best thing about this car is the way it drives . It always starts up right away , idles perfectly and cruises comfortably at 90 miles per hour . The transmission was rebuilt a couple of years ago , so it shifts just the way it is supposed to . The air-conditioning blows ice cold and the climate control works well. The sunroof , radio and even the power antenna all work .   It only has 185k miles on it , which comes to about 7400 miles per year . This is actually considered low miles for this kind of car . There are several cars with this engine on Ebay right now with 400k-500k miles and still driving well . The 5 cylinder turbo diesel engine was one of the most durable and reliable engines Mercedes ever built . They have been used all over europe and in the middle east for taxi's and you can still see them driving today with over a million miles .  This engine is also the best candidate for bio diesel conversion . This way you could drive on vegetable oil or free oil from restaurants . It has never been done on this particular car , but with gasoline prices where they are today , it sounds like a good idea.   Mercedes only built 8007 of these gorgeous 123 series coupes with diesel engine between 1978 and 1985 and a lot less with the turbo version . With being the last year of production , fully documented history and only 2 previous owners , this car should also make an excellent and practical investment . This is one of the very few classic cars you can drive every day and (provided you keep up the maintenance) you should always get your investment back .
