Vehicle Detail

Here we have a 1972 R75/5 (750cc) Short Wheel Base (SWB) with 4 speed transmission. I purchased this motorcycle in May of 2009 from a well known BMW dealer in Northern New England. It was taken in on trade from the previous owner. The dealer performed a complete service and run-through of the bike which included oil seals etc. They even performed a complete breakdown and cleaning of the carburators. I have some supporting documentation from the dealer that I can provide to the buyer. It comes with a brand new full set of the original style Krauser saddlebags (including top case!) made in Germany. All locks work perfectly. The only flaw is it look's like the Top Case may have been dropped at some time. There is a small crease on the top left corner. It look's like it's been repaired with some type of resin. Otherwise the Top Case is just fine. This is not a parts bike, i.e., the engine and frame serial numbers match. The seat however has been replaced with a NOS, OEM (new old stock) replacement. This motorcycle is in excellent running condition with no leaks, mechanical or electrical issues whatsoever. The speedometer still provides an accurate reading. The tachometer no longer provides an accurate reading but the tachometer needle is fully intact and is not broken. This is a common problem with these old BMW instrument clusters. The paint is all original with only some minor imperfections. The left-hand horn/highbeam switch had to be replaced because the switch contacts finally gave out. It has been replaced with a BMW OEM replacement. The fiberglass fenders are not cracked and are fully intact. The gas tank has a very faint crease on the top rear of the tank. It is barely noticeable and has not affected the paint. The chrome gas tank panels are in good condition with no pitting. The battery covers are also in good condition but are showing signs of miner surface rust in some spots. This can also be said about the wheel spokes. The tires have plenty of life and likely have a couple of seasons left in them. The odometer reads 14k + miles. The BMW dealer provided me with a notarized odometer statement when I purchased it. The engine provides a strong and smooth ride. This bike is ready to ride and needs nothing except a good home and a rider that can fully appreciate a BMW Classic. The reason I'm selling it is because I own 4 other BMW's and I'm trying to eliminate the payments on my latest purchase. There is no Title with this motorcycle. If you require a title, you can obtain one through a variety of on-line services. This motorcycle is currently registered in the state of Vermont. Upon sale of the motorcycle I will transfer the registration over to the new owner and retain the plates so that they may be returned to Vermont DMV. Shipment and pick up is entirely the responsibility of the buyer. A $500.00 deposit will be due from the winning bidder via PayPal within 48 hours after the close of bidding. If you have any further questions, I will try to answer them as quickly and as best I can. More photos can be provided upon request.
