I have for your consideration a 2005 Subaru Forester. I bought this vehicle recently from the dealership where I work as an ASE Master Subaru Technician. The previous owner had another repair facility replace a bad balancer which had damaged the front timing cover. Well the cover came apart and got into the timing belt and caused the right camshaft to come out of time. In turn the right side exhaust valves were damaged. I noticed when I pulled the heads off the vehicle that the inside of the engine was as clean as one with 5,000 miles. The owner decided instead of paying for engine repairs he would put that money into a new Forester. I thought it would make a great upgrade for my Wifes impreza which has over 160,000 miles. Well she does not like the body style of the Forester so I am forced to sell it. Let me describe all that I have done to this vehicle at the Subaru Dealership with only Subaru original parts. 1. I REPLACED 4 EXHAUST VALVES, CHECKED VALVE SEATS AND LAPPED NEW OEM EXHAUST VALVES ON THE RIGHT SIDE CYLINDER HEAD AND REPLACED ---BOTH---CYLINDER HEAD GASKETS EVEN THOUGH I ONLY NEEDED TO REMOVE ONE CYLINDER HEAD. SUBARUS ARE KNOWN TO LEAK A LITTLE OIL AND SOMETIMES A LITTLE ANTIFREEZE FROM THE HEAD GASKETS WHEN THEY GET A LOT OF MILES ON THEM. THESE WERE NOT LEAKING BUT WHILE I WAS THERE I REPLACED BOTH. 2. I REPLACED THE TIMING BELT AND THE TIMING BELT COVER. BELT IS DUE EVERY 105,000 MILES AND WILL NEED REPLACING AGAIN AT 211,000 MILES 3. I PERFORMED A COMPLETE 120,000 MILE SERVICE WHICH INCLUDES a. oil and filter change b. transmission fluid change c. antifreeze fluid change d. front differential fluid change e. rear differential fluid change f. new spark plugs g. valve adjustment h. new air filter i. flush and replace all brake fluid j. cleaned throttle valve k. perform vehicle checkover - front brakes are in excellent condition with approximately 60% life remaining and rear were cleaned and adjusted and have approximately 75% remaining. There are no brake noises and also there is no vibration at any speed or incline. Brakes are in excellent condition. Steering and suspension are in excellent condition. All lights are working properly. All accesories and Air conditioner are working as they should. Cruise control works great. CD player works great and speakers sound as they should. Tires were passable but I did not like them so I replaced them. l. 4 new Yokohama AVID Touring-S tires 215-60-16 http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Yokohama&tireModel=AVID+TOURING-S m. 4 wheel alignment - adjusted rear and front toe as needed o. August VA State inspection sticker good until 08/31/2011 This vehicle runs exceptionaly well, idle is smooth, there are no leaks of any kind and is COMPLETLEY SERVICED. Drives without any strange noises, has no vibrations up to 75mph (as fast as I dare drive in the commonwealth of VA!) I would say this vehicle is in EXCELLENT MECHANICAL CONDITION. I have a carfax report ready and will email it to you if needed as well as the autocheck in this listing. Remember I am an ASE Master Technician working at a Subaru new car dealership. This Forester was put back correctly and completely, no modifications or parts left over. 100 percent correct. I will provide documentation as to the work I have done as well! Just when you thought this vehicle was perfect now for the bad. What little there is There are several scratches on the paint. I took it to a proffesional (Woodings proffesional car care) In Roanoke Va. and had the vehicle buffed and waxed and cleaned inside and out. They got a bunch of light scratches out but there are still several scratches and some stone chipping on the hood. I think this car looks fantastic but it does have 117k miles and this is the original paint. The interior looks superb. Not perfect but no rips tears or major stains. So here is the deal. If you are looking for a great Subaru with ALL WHEEL DRIVE , Automatic transmission and cruise control that is complete and a 1 owner - well really 2 but I have only logged 100 miles since I did all the work. That is CARFAX certified and needs NOTHING this car is for you. I will set the reserve at least $1,000 less than the Kelley Blue book "private party" sell price which is $8,469.00 after a carfax history impact $30.00 adjustment KBB $8,439.00. Retail dealer price is over $11,000 I will not offer any warranty but rest assured this vehicle is in excellent mechanical condition and good to very good appearance condition. I will try to post pictures that will describe condition. Rember I have had it completley detailed and buffed so know any scratches remaining will not buff out. I hate those auctions that tell you all you need to do is just buff or a slight adjustment and it will run great. THIS CAR IS DONE AND NO MORE CAN BE DONE TO IT. BID WITH GREAT CONFIDENCE.
