Vehicle Detail

BEAUTIFUL and well preserved 1970 Honda CB750. I purchased this bike with the intent to put this machine back to original. The bike has had three owners and I was able to contact the last two owners to discuss what had been done or what needed done. The second owner purchased it in Michigan with about 14,000 original miles. He clean the bike and started to go the cafe racer way (black cylinder). After he realized it was to nice to go the cafe way and needing money he sold it to the third owner from whom I puchased the bike. This gentleman in Tennessee took it a step further and had all the metal and side covers painted ($1500) and had a Honda mechanic go over the bike and tune it up. After I got the bike and realized the floats were bad I replaced all the floats with NOS Honda floats and replaced the air cleaner. I have put around 500 miles on the bike in the last few months. I love this bike but as you can see from another bike I have listed, I am having back issues and selling off some of my toys. As you can see from the photos this machine is really clean for a 40 year old motorcycle. The paint is incredible with two small issues I want to mention. First is the small crack on the rightside cover upper right corner. I can tell why Honda only used these larger side covers for two years because your leg hits them. Not a bad crack but a crack. The other issue is a blister on the very bottom right corner of the tank. The tank is not leaking but my painter friend told me he could repair it for $150 that you could never tell. Other than these two minor defects the bike is incredible. The chome is very nice, the wheels are great and the frame is excellent. There are a few nuts and bolts that need polished but expected on a 40 year old machine. This bike is turn key and needs noting to ride. The tires are new, the carbs have been synched and there are no engine noises. The bike doesn't smoke and the aftermarket pipe sounds incredible. I know that a 1970 CB750 is the second year for the CB750 and I have heard two different comments about the air box and side covers. One side is that these side covers are for an earlier model 1970 and the 1969 but I was also told that it they are correct. I'm by far not a Honda expert but I do know these parts are extremely valuable and extremely nice. The mileage is documented and correct. The chrome gauge covers are an aftermarket item but correct for the period. The engine number is CB750E-1070387 and the frame number is 1069889 with a 12/70 mfg date. So come and rider her, bid with confidence that it's as nice as the photos look. My 100% rating is very important to me so I have done my very best to point out the good and a couple of the little things that are not perfect. Good luck and contact me with any questions........On Aug-22-10 at 16:02:00 PDT, seller added the following information: Just a quick update to the listing.....Because my 100% rating is very important to me I want to mention the following: I have been told by the Honda CB750 experts that this bike is a 1971. I have been told that the side panels and airbox are incorrect as well and probably came from a K0 (1969 & early 1970). This maybe so but I think it's important to mention that the tag on the frame say 12/70. The title also says 1970. I guess like all cars and motorcycles that come out later in the year they are the next years model. I'm not real sure other than the title says 1970. Make no mistake that even with these few items that are in question, this bike is a beautiful motorcycle and has been well taken care of over the years. The frame paint is original and almost flawless, the tank and panel paint is incredible and most important the bike runs well with NO issues. Everything works! Everywhere I go with this bike it turns heads and is the hit of the rally. I appreciate the experts giving me this information and I want everyone to have all the facts prior to bidding.
