Vehicle Detail
Very rare wagon and in very good to excellent condition for its age, 1975 American Motors Matador station wagon woody Brougham edition. With a little over 63k original miles this wagon was bought brand new by its sole owner here in California. This is an unmolested station wagon that has absolute zero rust throughout the entire car. Original Califonia Blue/Yellow plates, original color and paint. This car has never being repainted ever. There is no bondo nor body repairs of any kind. This matador was rarely used in the city and occasionally during summer time to tow a 24 ft airstream trailer. It features a professionally and in good working order tow itch, it also has a brake adjustment feature when combined with the trailer, power front disc brakes and a great running 360 engine. Although it was not used in several years, after I put a fresh battery and changed to module for the elctronic ignition this wagon started right up and now runs beautifully. It does not make any strange sounds nor knockings of any kind. Underneath the car there are no signs of any liquids leaking from anywhere. It idles great and runs very smooth. The interior is also all original and in very good condition. I did not see any major cut or rips on the front seats and they feel nice and firm, the back seat looks almost untouched. Also the front beanch seat is actually divided in 2 parts which can be moved forward and back independetly from one another. The dash and controls look great, radio works fine, seat belt warning works, the antenna outside is in perfect condition the headliner is near perfect so are the door panels. Even though I took the car to a local car wash this wagon would clean up even better with some detailing and would look great after some wax. The paint looks great and it's not pale at all and still retains its original shine. There are some small little side dimples from moving or parking the car inside a narrow garage. The driver side door has some scratches on the faux woody part but the actual body was not damaged. The hard plastic panels behind the back seat have some cracks due to age but they are in decent shape. There is the full spare with the jack and a small compartment on the left side that can be locked unlike the larger center part storage area in the back. This would be a drama free and very easy restoration wagon if you would want it in immaculate condition or can be driven and definetely enjoyed as is. Great surfer wagon, grocery getter or show contender if you'd fall in love with it. These are the only few important things I believe need attention after driving it and inspected for some time: One of the front tires looks like its crubling due to age. The tire itself looks in decent shape although I think the rubber got dry with time. The A/C does not blow cold air and the compressor makes a noise when ingages. It looks like it wants to go although I did not want to keep it running under stress. So could be that might just need a recharge/retrofit or worse case a new compressor. I have had only good experience with A/C on AMC cars so i doubt is the compressor but I do not exclude it. This wagon runs very good but I did not change the oil or oil filter or spark plugs, I did change the wires though, added antu freeze fluid and brake fluid. I ship cars worlwide. Local inspection is very welcome. email me to set up an appointment or if you have any specific questions. Even though I do ship cars worldwide I cannot give a quote on shipping charges nationally or internationally. I can suggest a few shipping companies I have worked in the past although I am not affiliated with any of them. California Shipping www.calship.com (talk to Brita) Titan Shipping www.titanship.com (talk to Chris) Rinkens Shipping www.rinkens.com (Talk to Joey) Schumacher Cargo Logistics www.schumachercargo.com THE CAR MUST BE PICKED UP WITHIN 10 DAYS FROM THE END OF THE AUCTION This car must be picked within 10 from the end of the auction even if it's been paid in full. If not picked up by the time requested I'd have to charge $25 per week storage fee the following week after the 10 days grace period. This is primarily to encourage the buyer to have the car picked up as soon as possible or I would end up with my entire lot packed with vehicles. I understand it sounds a bit harsh though I hope it makes a point.
