Vehicle Detail

For sale is my excellent running 96 Town & Country van with the 3.3 liter V6 engine that is well known for it's longevity. I purchased it 2 years ago as an extra run around car for my wife and son with 120k miles on it. It now has 141k miles on it and still runs excellent and has been very well maintained. This van has never broken down or not started and has been very dependable. The only reason I am selling is that I have the opportunity to buy a newer van from a friend who is buying a new car. First let me list all the work I have had done on the van over the last 2 years. New transmission (2 years ago), full tune up with plugs and wires and all filters, new radiator and cooling system, new thermostat, new coolant sensor, new battery ( 1 year ago), new crank sensor, new front struts and strut mounts and bushings, new rear shocks, a/c charged last summer still runs cold, oil change and filter every 3000 miles, brake pads front and rear, equalizer valve in brake line just changed this week for $200, new clockspring changed by Chrysler last year, and I am sure there are a few things I am forgetting. The body is fairly straight and the paint is decent as you can see in the pics. The interior is all there with 2 bench seats and absolutely no rips or tears in the seats, they are just a bit dirty and could use a good cleaning. But most importantly this van runs great and starts every time and is very dependable and would make a great station car for a commuter, a great first car for a kid who can turn a wrench and do some basic repairs and maintenence, or a great work van that you could beat up a little bit without having to worry about every scratch or where you park every day. Now for the negatives. First and foremost, the van WILL NOT PASS INSPECTION. The van passed inspection the last 2 years in a row but the "check engine" light went on a few months ago and my mechanic said that since almost everything had been changed and the van was running great, just don't worry about it and he would check it out before the next inspection. You are free to take the van to your mechanic to check it out. Also, the head gasket sweats a little coolant but does not drip or leak. It has been like this since I bought the van 2 years ago and I have never needed to added coolant. Also, the body has some rust around the edges and some minor dents and scratches, the fuel gauge sometimes freaks out when you fill up the tank and the low fuel light will go on and off a bunch of times. The radio doesn't work great and you kind of have to punch the buttons to get it to change stations or change the volume. This is not a problem if you have one favorite station and never change it. The tires are ok for now but you should probably get new tires for the winter. The rear vent windows I bolted shut because the electric motors broke, but the 2 front windows work fine. The overhead console computer that shows temp, DTE and compass works but sometimes has to be punched to change from one reading to another. Most of these problems you don't even notice after a while after you get used to them, but I wanted to disclose them anyway. All of these minor things in no way affect the driveability or dependability of the car from a mechanical perspective and are not very troublesome. It may not be the prettiest van on the block but it certainly gets you where you want to go every time. NO E-MAIL. PLEASE CALL TOM AT 917-923-9381 TO ASK ANY QUESTIONS OR TO ARRANGE TO SEE THE VAN. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!
