This is a lovingly maintained '57 Chevy Convertible. It has been owned by my father-in-law for over 20 years. When purchased, the upholstery was redone as it was originally and is in beautiful shape. It is garage-kept. It is in beautiful condition. It is not an award winner as the VIN on body and engine do not match, but it is in excellent condition. This is a car you will drive and it WILL turn heads. In the year 2000, the engine was changed from the original to a 283 cubic inch, 8-cylinder, very low mileage engine with 2 barrel carb. This was done for performance reasons. A custom exhaust was also installed. It growls. This car moves and sounds great. In 2000, the vehicle was completely repainted. A new convertible top was also installed at the time. The condition of the paint is excellent. There are two blemishes on the car, there is a convex dent on the rear deck just behind the rear window and a very small door ding on the left front quarter panel. The top is a manual top now, but the hydraulic cylinders for automatic operation are included in the sale. The chrome on this car are its best feature. It is in near-perfect condition and must be seen to be believed. With a little TLC, this car will be the driver you've always wanted. Clock and radio do not work. The vehicle is located in Little Compton (Tiverton), Rhode Island which is 1-hour south of Boston and 40 minutes south of Providence. It is across the river (east) of Newport.
