Vehicle Detail

The best starting project Mustang Convertible you will ever find!!!! Do you want to build a Mustang Convertible? Restoring a complete rust bucket? Need a good platform for restoration but don't want to do months of body work and spend thousands of dollars? Then bid now!!!!! This is a car I bought several years ago to restore and it has just been sitting in storage while I slowly work on my 66 coupe in the garage. It is time to let someone else buy it to restore to a beautiful car again. THE GOOD: Rare San Jose built (only 4,500 built there) Mustang convertible, rare Pagoda Green color with factory white power top, black interior, factory optioned with 260 V-8 and 3spd, mainly surface rust only, straight body, all convertible parts are there, factory original decklid and right fender in amazing condition, right door shell needs skin but shell is excellent, right headlamp bucket correct for 64-1/2, original frame mounted horns, original core support with battery vents, dash is great with no cut outs for aftermarket radio, all original sheet metal with date codes matching. THE BAD: Bare bones shell, car comes with body and convertible top frame, rear seat interior quarter panels, right fender, right door, deck lid, front suspension and steering, wiring and not much else. No drive train, no hood, no left hand door or fender, no seats, no cluster. This is a serious project for experienced restorers but a great starting platform. Most convertibles are rusted out from nose to tail and this one is not at all, it is solid at the core support, solid at the front aprons and rails, solid in the floor, solid in the rockers, solid in the trunk and rear rails. It looks like a 5 year old car underneath. The left front floor area needs a patch panel and so does one of the drop offs and rear quarter extensions from sitting outside for years but otherwise the car should need no welded panels. The cowl is even rust free!!! This car would be ideal for someone with a complete car that is a rust bucket to make the project so much easier. I have a clear title in my name, no salvage. This car will need to be trailered(obviously) and has its front suspension intact with 2 tires. There is no rear end at all so plan accordingly. This is a valuable find and one that needs to go to someone serious about Mustangs. VIN decoded below. I cannot find the data plate any longer but do have the decoded sheet from when I bought the car. VIN number and date codes match on the car all over. See below for VIN and Data Plate decoding. VIN 5-1965(1964-1/2) R-San Jose, CA 08-Convertible F-260 2v V-8 103625-consecutive unit DATA PLATE Body-76A-Convertible(Standard Interior) Color-B-pagoda Green Trim-56-Black vinyl and cloth Date-27G-July 27, 1964 DSO-71-Los Angeles Axle-1-3:00 to 1, standard Trans-1-3 speed manual The car still has a faded area where the dealer sticker was on the rear body and it reads Bill Dedma(n) Ford El Cajon California. The car has been stored in my warehouse at work and will need to be moved with a trailer and winch or a flatbed wrecker. Deposit of $100 via PayPal within 48 hours of confirmed winning bid and pick up and payment to be made within 14 days of auction close. Payment to be made in full at time of pick up in cash or with a cashiers check only. Titling paperwork and bill of sale will be given to buyer at that time. Car currently registered in the state of Maine. Please e-mail me with any questions you may have and I will be happy to answer them. I can take more photos if needed just let me know what you want to see. The reserve is set at $2,000 so you don't have to ask that question. I have a buy it now price that is worth the savings on body and sheet metal work of a similar project with extensive rust, I will let the auction run it's full time otherwise. Car is for restoration purposes only and is not driveable or street legal and will need to be towed. Sale will be final and is an "As-Is" transaction with no warranties expressed or implied. Good Luck! and thanks for looking.
