SHELBY SPECIFICATION HIGH OUTPUT ENGINE IN SHOW QUALITY CONDITION! A fine automobile is a tool and an outward sign of success. Early premium quality Mustangs are in great demand. Fords biggest success car was offered with dozens of options and accessories. There is no typical example of the breed, meaning prices fluctuate wildly. Separate from all the rest are the 4 speed high performance 289 V8's. They are the demand cars and prices have steadily increased in value. Collectors and traders demand high prices and buyers expect high appreciation. This is a case in point of 'some things get better with age'. Richard Lanworth set the value of a top quality convertible with a "hi-po" V8 and 4 speed manual transmission at $14,500. That was 23 years ago, in 1987. He also predicted a 50% increase by the year 1992. His prediction was accurate. The car to own is a high performance 4 speed convertible. They are the most valuable, most collectable and the most desirable. THE CAR OFFERED HERE IS A HIGH PERFORMANCE SHELBY SPEC 4 SPEED CONVERTIBLE. PLUS, IT IS IN EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION IN AND OUT. I will do my best to show you this automobile with words and pictures from every angle, inside and out along with its known history. I offer you my opinions and evaluations. There are 60 close up pictures for you to study and enjoy. I encourage you to look at the car. It would be a pleasure to show it to you. It is one of the finest in the land, top quality in every way. The car has had 3 owners. The first owned it until 1973. The second from 1973 - 1985 and the third for the remaining 25 years. The car has never seen salt or snow. It spent all of its 45 years in Alabama........ The owner had a dream. The car was trailered here and traded in on a brand new 2010 Shelby convertible. He was the President of Alabama's Rocket City Mustang club. You are looking at a car that stands as tall as the best. The original engine (289 CU. IN. high performance) was rebuilt by the third owner, who invested over $10,000 in the job. It now meets 1965 Shelby specifications in its current configuration. The engine develops over 400 horsepower. The VIN number is 5F08A277563. Even though the car is fast and furious it has had white glove care. The entire car meets a high standard. You just do not find many like this. The engine and engine compartment are exciting to show. A crowd gathers every time the hood is opened, especially with the motor running. It sounds like it is in motion even when standing still. The exhaust commands attention, however it is not too loud, just right. The headers and entire exhaust are like brand new. With all its power it is a pleasure to drive. It corners well, follows a straight line, shifts with ease and handles well at any speed. The odometer reads 20,000 miles. The title states actual mileage. However, we make no mileage claim. The Factory tach and Rally pac are in place and function properly. The original color exterior is exceptionally bright and shiny. There are no dents, easy to look at even up close. There are no areas that need attention. There is no rust and there never has been. The bright work and all of the chrome is very good to excellent. The original body stampings are there and visible. This is a beautiful automobile...... by any ones standards. The interior is original. There are no wear areas. It is close to factory new condition. The convertible top boot is in excellent condition and fits exactly right. There is no need to pull snaps into place. All of the snaps are there, also. The top itself looks new, with one exception. The left rear quarter has crease marks from an improper put down. This is minor, however I found it necessary to mention. Nothing could be finer, the car catches the eye of almost everyone. Awesome to look at and a pleasure to drive. It is completely ready to show and enjoy. Just a bit more about the cars sound. I had the privilege of following in a chase vehicle on the way home. At expressway speeds, 75 - 85 MPH there was that magnificent sound as the car found its way. Even though I was 2 or 3 car lengths behind it filled the air like distant thunder. Truly a wonderful experience. The windshield, all of the windows are clear and clean with no chips. The windows go up and down with ease. Even the door panels have not been abused. As you enter the car it is like stepping into a new car. The trunk speaks for itself, super clean and spotless with the original covers still there. This is a first time offering, an excellent opportunity to own a world class Automobile attainable at below market book value. It is not cheap, but most certainly not over priced.
