Vehicle Detail

1990 Porsche 944S2 Cabriolet (Convertible) , 50,805 actual miles. This car runs great and handles well. It has a few dings and a few minor things need to be fixed. (nothing too major). This car is not perfect. Let me rephrase that. This car "is not perfect!" It is not a basket case by all means, it just needs someone to take care of it and who likes to work on cars. I have owned this car for 13 years and have put 3000K on it and in the past 10 years have only put a few hundred miles on it and because of my business I have not had time to tinker with it. This car needs a good home with someone that has a little time to play with it and fix the little things that are wrong with it. (I don't..I have too many toys and some of them need to go) This car was only stored inside and has never seen snow, not even much rain for that matter, has not been driven much and needs some love and care. Current book value is in the 11K range so I am letting this car go cheap as it needs to be driven. Fast and powerful. Engine is smoooooth.. 5 speed manual transmission and shifts smooth. (One tiny drip, I think from the power steering or the power steering lines) Really..only 51K miles on this car. (kinda pathetic I know..I should have drove it more!) Convertible, top is in fairly good shape. Motor has been disconnected and we just put it manually up an down. Needs a little alignment and some of the molding can use to be replaced. A couple small tears that could use some silcone. Paint is pretty good. A couple small dents. No accidents or damage. I am not aware of any additional damage from any prior owner. I thought about having it painted, but it just never happened. All electric works fine. Other then the clock is not working and one power window switch is a bit finicky. A red light comes on, on the dash, no one can figure out why, but we were going to disconnect it. Everything works fine on the car. Alpine AM/FM CD player with rear and door speakers. Nothing too cranking loud, but it does the job. Upper door tweeters and amp were removed from original system, but you can always add these back..maybe add a huge bass to the back seat! Interior is black and in great shape. No rips, tears or wear and power seats work fine. All dash vinyl good. Porsche embroidered floor mats. Brakes good and were redone about 2000 miles ago. tires ok, but would be due for new ones someday soon. It could use an alignment, (I was waiting to put new tires on it and do it then) When you look at the front of the car it is about 3/4" lower on one side then the other. So I am not sure about the shocks or springs up front. They seem fine. A bunch of new stuff on it since I owned it. (All new belts, including the timing belt. clutch, belts, air conditioning compressor, torque tube, alternator, battery, etc, etc ...I think I have some of the receipts) It has an owners manual and I have some of the literature from when the car was new in 1990 and also a parts disk. I have tried to describe this car as best I can and as honestly as I can and I think I covered most everything that may be wrong with it. I am not advertising this car as perfect, so don't bid on it, expecting that. If you are looking for a nice older Porsche to tinker with, drive and enjoy this would be it. I don't get involved with arranging shipping for cars, so you will need to take car of that yourself. We of course will cooperate as much as we can to help the driver or pick up company. Payment requires $500 down, balance due by Cashiers Check or Cash in 7 days, unless prior arrangements are made. This car is also for sale locally so we reserve the right to close the auction if it sells. If you have questions, hit me with them, I will answer them as best as I can. Come check it out if you want. It is easy to see, I keep it at our business in our warehouse . You can email or call me cell is 319-270-6961 my name is Ken.
