Vehicle Detail
**Detailed Pictures Below** I bought this Honda XL250 to use up at college, i'm going to Michigan Tech, and thought it would work well for hopping on the trails and going to class, as it comes with a beefy rack to throw lots of stuff on it. Unfortunately, money's tight and I just cant have a second vehicle up at school. The bike runs well, though it can be a moody starter, sometimes, it's a one or two kick day, sometimes its stubborn and takes awhile, but when it runs, it runs will without hiccups. I bought this from an elsderly gentleman, i have the title, owners manual, and origional tool kit, this bike looks very clean, but there's some flaws. The Good: BRAND NEW 50/50 dirt / street tires Runs well, fresh oil change, fork oil flushed and replaced, cam chain tension set, clutch adjusted, this is a very easy bike to work on, valve clearance and points are set easily and detailed in the owners manual. Electronic system works almost flawleslly, has a beefy rack that I have not seen on any other xl250. The Bad The blinkers stay on, they dont flash, i havent looked into it, It could be as simple as a wrong bulb throwing the system off, or it may need a new flasher, which are pretty cheap at auto stores. The tach doesnt work, but I'm positive it needs a new cable, as the cable is close to the headpipe, and there is a section where the casing is melted, and the cable is rusty, no doubt keeping the cable from turning. This bike has taken a spill at one point in its life, the handle bars are a little tweaked, there is a tear in the seat, and a dent in the tank from someones knee, no doubt. i believe it could be pulled by someone who knows what they're doing. also, the hard start issue could be from flooding, because when the petcock is left on, there is a light film of gas on the bowl of the carb, no drips or puddles laying, just a light weeping, I think this is a bad bowl gasket, or the float may be sticking or there isnt a good seal at the seat, i dont have time to look into this as im going to school shortly
