UPON REQUESTION, YOU CAN HAVE MY CELL# FOR ANY QUESTIONS ON THE CAR. In mid-1968, Buick introduced the CALIFORNIA GS, which was exclusively designed and engineered for GOLDEN STATE MOTORISTS. This Gran Sport was essentially the same as the GS350, but with a special trim and an automatic transmission. The CALIFORNIA GS was equipped with a vinyl top, chrome exterior trim, chrome plated "SUPER SPORT" wheels and the deluxe steering wheel. The GS California emblems decorated the grille, roof sail panels and rear fenders. Buick advertised the model as "THE DISTINCTIVE PERSONAL CAR FOR AMERICANS ON THE GO!" The CALIFORNIA GS was ONLY BUILT in 1968-1969. It has its OWN SEPARATE VIN#. The motor is termed "THE WILDCAT 350" and comes standard with a 4 barrel carb on the GS, which provides outstanding acceleration. It develops 375 feet of torque and 280 horsepower. I purchased the 1968 BUICK CALIFORNIA GS a couple of years ago in the intent of doing a restoration on this RARE CLASSIC CAR. However, do to my lack of time, I prefer to sell it. Unlike many other classic cars, this car still has its STOCK APPEARANCE AND HAS NEVER BEEN HOT RODDED. The car has always been ADULT OWNED and the drive train is COMPLETELY ALL ORIGINAL. Even the ORIGINAL CARB AND EXHAUST MANIFOLDS are still on the car, which is all VERY IMPORTANT FOR COLLECTIBLITY AND APPRECIATION!! THE CAR HAS THE FOLLOWING OPTIONS: · #’s matching 350 4bbl · Deluxe steering wheel · Chrome plated ”SUPER SPORT” wheels · Trim package · Power steering · Power brakes The motor runs VERY QUIET AND DOESNT RUN HOT. The transmission SHIFTS GOOD and the exhaust is QUIET. This is the perfect car for a person that would like the pleasures of driving the car while they RESTORE IT at there leisure or it "CAN BE DRIVEN AS IS". CONDITION Although, this car NEEDS A RESTORATION, IT RUNS GREAT!!! The EXTERIOR of the car is red with a black top. THIS CAR IS COMPLETE. All the headlights, taillights, markers and signals work. The doors open and close fine. All the glass is good and functional. The ORIGINAL INTERIOR of the car is black and is COMPLETE. Although, it shows its age after 40 years, I would still rate it to be in GOOD SHAPE. The headliner is torn. The front seat is ripped and the dash pad has a crack. However, the dashboard area is not cut, is unmolested and completely intact and everything works fine. Even though an aftermarket radio was installed, nothing was cut or altered, so an original radio can be reinstalled. The front panels, rear panels and back seat are in good shape. So, if you are looking to spend a MODEST amount of money, and would like to own a RARE classic car that RUNS GREAT, then definitely consider my car.
