1965 Mercury Comet Caliente. Black plate California car. Bought new and handed down to lady I bought it from when she left for college and sold it to me 3 years ago. I bought it for the investment, but my wife liked it too much and decided to keep it and complete the restoration the former owner had started. Unfortunately I full victim to our recession, Obama, and am forced to part with it. This is the real deal. No rust, no structual issues, no drivabilty issus. There's nothing to fix mechanically. The car is at prep for paint teardowm. That is why all of the badges, chrome, etc. is off the car. It cam with nearly all of the key parts from a second Comet. Hood, Trunk lid, both doors, both front fenders, bumpers, grille, bench seat for front and back and all the chrome. They started restoration around 1998, I said 88 in my last listing, but I was wrong. They rebuilt the engine, adding a cam, added the 4 speed top-loader transmission, Detroit locker, positive traction 9" rear end, and front disk brakes. The engine runs perfect and the clutch is great. I have put a used, but good 3 core radiator in right after I bought it. I was driving it routinely until about 6 months ago, but due to financial circumstances, I non-opted for this yearm but start it weekly. The car is Very Fast, The sale also comes with nearly a complete second car for parts, see photo's and ask any question you may have. This is a nice car.
