1960 Austin Healey Bug-Eye Sprite -- the car was purchased new by a teacher in Chico, CA. The car was always garaged and still has the original owner's manual. When he died, his niece in Helena became the owner of the car. She died 8 years ago, and about 5 years after her death, her husband sold the car to me. It had been in the garage all that time. There's no sign of any rust anywhere ever. Very, very solid little car. The previous owner had a local mechanic put rings, bearings, and ground the valves in the motor about 3,000 miles ago, but it still has some oil leaks somewhere The miles on the car, I believe, are correct, and that is what all the living relatives have told me, but I cannot positively guarantee it. When I got the car it had old bias ply tires, and I think they had sat so long they had flat spots in them. I replaced them with a set of radials. I also rebuilt all the brake wheel cylinders, master cylinder, clutch, slave cylinder, and installed all new brake shoes. I had the radiator rebuilt and installed a 6-bladed fan. I put kits in the carburetors and have 2 extra carbs that will go with the car. The seat and carpeting look like they were replaced at some time, but the dash still has the original vinyl on it. The gauges all work, everything runs & drives great and it's just a blast to drive. It has the top side panels, plastic sliding windows, and tonneau cover. It had an amateur paint job sometime in its life and it looks all right from 20 ft away but has some rock chips and is in no way a show car paint job. There is no warranty expressed or implied.
