Vehicle Detail
Here is a Ford Ranch Wagon that has been just brought back to life after being put away in 1968. The motor had some problems and the last oil change was at 91000 miles in 1968. I believe it was in a garage up until I bought it. I removed the Y block and installed a 400M out of a 79 Lincon mark V, along with the C6 3 speed auto. This motor runs 60lbs. of oil pressure when first started, and about 35-40 when hot. The auto is hooked to the original shifter. I installed a new gas tank (over 500.00) and a new Radiator. The motor had around 78,000 miles in the Lincon. Has new wheel cylinders and brake lines. New shoes in the front. The only rot was in the lower rear quarters and rockers. I replaced these and It could still use the inner rockers installed if you wanted. The frame has some surface rust. The floors have no rust. Everything is original in the interior. There is a small rip in the drivers side of the front seat. Things are a bit faded, and there is some warpage in a couple of the door panels. I have taken the door panels off for painting and I was amazed as how clean the inside of the doors and rear deck lid was. This car still has all the stock ford script glass, and all the door felt is almost like new. Wheels are 15X5 Crown Victoria with new tires. Some of the negatives are.... This was to be my tow car for my front engine dragster, so the paint has a few runs, and the body work could have been a bit better. There are a couple of dents that I missed, and did not seam seal all the places I should have. The paint is single stage, so a good color sand would take care of a lot of small flaws. Needs a new speedometer cable and the E brake adjusted. There are two small rock chips in the windshield. They can be repaired as this is the thick type of glass that to not crack and "travel" The drive shaft was shortened and it needs to be balanced. I has a slight vibration over 65 mph. It is a neat ride, and with a little more TLC this would make a great resto hauler. It was always in Connecticut so there is no title on these cars. I will supply a bill of sale and old Registration slips. Call me any questions. 203 815 4544. Delivery can be arranged for a $ on the east coast. This is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to cancel the auction. I have dropped the reserve to lower than the highest bid from the last listing. I drove it around this weekend, and was not going to sell it, but the reality is I need the $ and the space as another project is waiting in the wings. Thanks.
