NO RESERVE AUCTION I did not set a reserve price on my auction. All that I ask in return is for your bids to be real and your intent to purchase be sincere. A full and detailed description is below. I took every picture you're about to see the day before this auction started. No photo has been enhanced or altered in any way. PLEASE, read my terms of sale located towards the bottom of this screen. I'm a kindhearted person but I will not bend on these basic terms unless previously discussed during the auction. A little communication goes a long way. Calling this a nice truck would be a bit of an understatement. Exceptional is much more accurate. They just aren't found like this anymore. My collection consists of primarily vehicles from the GM line and as a lifetime Oregonian, I'm always attracted to locally owned and original vehicles. This truck has resided and been cared for here in Oregon since new. Prior to my ownership she was with the same family since day-one. A special order truck with the Custom Camper package and the recently available, from Chevrolet, turbo-400 automatic transmission. Factory 327-V8 rated at 300HP. Extremely solid and rust-free truck. Interior and exterior are in wonderful condition and the drivetrain is what you'd expect from an authentic and meticulously maintained 97,000 miles. For those that prefer a more detailed description, here it is: On the freeway here in Portland the day these photos were taken. I only took my eyes off the road for a second to snap this picture. Exterior The body and paint are very nice. All body panels are impressively straight as you sight down the sides. No washboard or waviness of any kind. She was repainted several years ago and a good job was performed. Any imperfection is minor and only visible on close inspection. The paint has a smooth texture and holds a high shine. I have found no evidence of the abuse of bondo or other body fillers. Both chrome bumpers are excellent with the rear being new. I didn't care for the step-type camper style rear bumper so I replaced it. The front is original and very nice with only slight signs of fading. All stainless trim, mouldings, chrome grille, glass, lenses, etc are in excellent shape. The truck shows and presents itself extremely well and more than deserves every compliment it receives every time I take it out of the garage. Simply an outstanding original truck in beautiful condition. The original wood bed was showing it's age so I replaced it with new. I chose to not stain it at this time. That's an option open to the next owner. The entire bed/cargo area is in great shape and has obviously seen little use over it's lifetime. Very nice condition. The front and rear license plates are original and the only ones the truck has ever had. Body panel fit, gaps and alignment are outstanding. No evidence of previous collisions. Original trucks in this condition are becoming extinct. Even the long side mouldings are excellent. Please notice the 2 small flaws at the bottom corner of the door. They are about the size of a pencil eraser and are isolated to this area only. They have remained unchanged. INTERIOR The interior is impressive. All components are in amazing condition. Even the seat fabric is in excellent shape. The rubber matting is perfect. The entire dashboard area is excellent. The factory AM radio sounds and works like new. Of course, the interior light works. Every light, gauge, knob and switch operates as intended. Heater, 2-speed wipers, radio and horn all function perfectly. Absolutely everything on the truck works! True and correct original mileage reading of 96,923. Speedometer and odometer function flwalessly. Other than slight paint wear, the original steering wheel is mint. DRIVETRAIN Mechanically, the truck is a sweetheart. The 327 starts easily everytime and runs like a watch. No ticks, no misses or issues of any kind with power to spare. The factory turbo-400 transmission shifts perfectly. The front suspension and steering are tight and sound. The brakes stop evenly and on a dime. I just had brand new dual exhaust installed. The drivetrain requires no attention. Very slight typical fluid seapage due to her age but nothing that would stop me from driving her any distance today. Truly a "turn-key" collector vehicle. The undersides are what we cross our fingers for and hope to find. Undercarriage is outstanding and rust-free. We don't salt our roads here in Oregon and this truck has NEVER been exposed to such conditions. The backsides of body panels are also amazing. GVW rating is 7500lbs. The 7 is difficult to read. Original dealership brochure. All of my ebay experiences have been enjoyable over the years as I've rotated through and sold members from my collection. I'm grateful for the kind words and compliments I've received. My opinions have guided me well and I stand behind them but please keep in mind that these are my person opinions and they may differ from your own. I welcome showing my truck in person. There are about 70 photos to view. It is my intention to make this as close to you seeing and touching the truck for yourself as possible. Feel free to click on the "ask a question" link here in the auction and I will respond to all polite questions. Phone calls are great too. My phone number is 503-887-1231 and calls between 8AM and 9PM Pacific time are just fine. My auction runs for 7 days and is scheduled to end on Wednesday evening, the 28th of July at 7:30PM Pacific. I reserve the right to end my auction early in the event I accept a genuine offer and the truck becomes no longer available. Thanks for your time, DAVE ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Terms of Sale: 44yr old vehicle being sold AS-IS: Please read and agree with the following: I have described my truck honestly, to the best of my ability based on 25 years of owning and driving classic vehicles. I have 100% faith in the drivability of this truck and to my knowledge everything is in fine working order. I have free and clear Oregon title in my possession. I would drive this truck anywhere but she is 44 years old and routine service and repairs should be expected. If you are not comfortable with a sight-unseen purchase, please come see the truck for yourself or have an independent inspection performed PRIOR to bidding. I will not be responsible for the decisions of others. I would appreciate the winning bidder contacting me immediately upon end of auction just so the lines of communication are opened. My number is 503-887-1231. A $1000.00 deposit is due within 48 hours of auction ending, preferably through PayPal just so we are both protected. Wire transfers and verifiable cashier checks are also acceptable. I'm an easy going person so if you need to make special financial arrangements just let me know BEFORE you bid and I'll try to help. I have been with the same bank here in Portland for over 8 years and the Management staff knows me. You are welcome to contact them for your own security if you like. The remaining balance is due within 7 calendar days of auction end in the form of secure funds. Some banks and credit unions do not finance vehicles of this vintage. Make sure if you are financing that your financial institution accepts the year and value of this vehicle before bidding. Please have your method of payment arranged prior to auction ending. TRANSPORT - SHIPPING I am happy to be an active and hands-on part of this process from start to finish but the buyer is ultimately responsible for pickup or shipping of this vehicle and any pre-purchase inspections need to be done BEFORE auction ending. If you wish to have it shipped using a service, I will gladly assist in loading and be present for the transport condition form or other reasonable help. Locating a transporter is the buyers responsibility but I can make recommendations and share the relationships I've built. Vehicle transport has become very reasonable. I personally use a privately owned trucking company. Dennis is a great guy and his direct number is 503-343-4884. He is based here in Oregon and has handled my transport needs perfectly for the last 3 years with careful handling, excellent rates and fast service even all the way to the East Coast. Dependable Auto Shippers (D.A.S.) is a transporter that eBay recommends and my experiences with them were just fine. My location zip code is 97267. Coast-to-Coast, door-to-door transport is around $1500.00 and even less the closer you are to Oregon. Shipping to Australia, Europe and other Countries has also become affordable and easy to arrange. If you are outside of the United States or Canada, you MUST contact me BEFORE bidding. If you are an eBay member with negative history or have a (0) or low transaction score, I need to hear from you just to verify your sincerity and accept your bids as genuine. We all started from (0) and I'm happy to give a leg up. I reserve the right to cancel bids for these reasons. Communication is all I ask. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time if the vehicle is no longer available or otherwise SOLD. On Jul-25-10 at 08:06:19 PDT, seller added the following information: Additional information I received a question that asked about the build sheet. The factory build sheet is beautifully preserved behind the seat. The paper is still bright white and the print is crystal clear. This original document authenticates the truck perfectly. Even the thin board that separates the gas tank from the seat is in-place and in excellent shape. Just a couple more things that support the condition of the truck. I hope this information was useful. Thanks again, DAVE
