Vehicle Detail
1967 Pontiac GTO Coupe, PHS numbers matching car, all paperwork comes with car. Also have the original bill of sale, window sticker, and owners manual with factory warranty plate in book. Car is totally original except for carburetor, installed is a 750 eldebrock, manual choke, HEI installed but I have original dist. and coil Car is a 400 CI 335 HP, 400 Turbo hydro trans, column shift, 336 LS rear axle. Car runs strong and drives outstanding. Tyrol Blue in color, with Parchment colored interior. Split bench seat with arm rest, black carpet, AM radio. Car is a good driver and is ready to be restored. Trunk floor bad. Have set of solid doors for a 67 coupe, no rust on them. Frame hips bad behind front fenders. Have replacement frame that comes with car, also have extra set of front fenders that are off of a 67 Lemans and several other parts, all goes with car. New B&F Good rich radial tires, front 205-70-14, rear 225-70-14, new airshocks. Interior floor boards are good, Passenger door cowl post (below the lower door hinge) has a rust hole in it. I have a piece from another car that is solid. On the drivers side near vent there is a rust hole too. Rear quarter panels are straight no rust through in front of wheel wells or over the top, inner and outer patch panels are needed behind the wheels (both sides), outer rear wheel tubs need to be replaced. To the best of my knowledge the motor and transmission have not been rebuilt, numbers on both match the PHS information I have for the car. The front windshield is cracked, all other glass perfect shape. The frame as noted is rusted behind the front wheels, that is why I have the other frame. The rest of the frame is good. Rocker panels also need to be replaced, inner and outer. The rear window channel which is part of the rear window tray does have rust that is why the trunk floor is bad. The tail light panel has pin hole rust around a couple of the lenses, the lip of this panel is rusted (where the rubber seal molding is located). I have been the owner of the car for approx. five years, based upon my research I am the 4th owner. It is a unique car. Of the 81,722 GTO 's built 7,029 were coupes. This coupe has column shift auto with split bench seat... not many of these were built. Last year at the Car Craft Nationals, two gentleman who were part of the Land O' Lakes GTO club looked the car the over extensively, down to the mirror and jack for the spare tire. All stampings were correct with the date of manufacture from the PHS information. Their conclusion after an extensive examination was this is a totally unrestored car...
