Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 1982 Honda GL500 C Silverwing Bike has 389 miles and is in like new condition. I obtained the bike with 22 miles on it and everything from the seats to the rubber grips smells as it did the day it was purchased. The reason for the "C" in the model is due to the bike being a GL500 originally but upgraded with Hondaline Interstate accessories at the dealer prior to purchase. This can be seen in the picture of the predelivery checklist where the dealer wrote down GL500C. I assume the "C" stands for Custom but I don't know. The only thing not upgraded to the Interstate specs is the front brakes which remain the standard GL500 280mm disc as apposed to the two 240mm on the Interstate model. As seen in the pictures the bike has brand new Clarion fairing mounted speakers which were still in the box until I mounted them recently. Inside the left fairing pocket there is a 1/8" female plug in which to plug an mp3 player such as an Ipod. The plug is connected to a small amplifier mounted in the fairing and is sufficient enough to produce sound that can be heard with a helmet on. There is also a Hondaline analog gauge cluster on the fairing which has an altimeter, ambient temperature (in Fahrenheit), volt meter, and clock. The rear passenger seat has a luggage rack with back rest and can easily be taken off and changed out with the trunk. I have both the tall trunk with back rest and the lid needed to convert the trunk to the lower model. The lid for the shorter trunk has never been installed. There are Markland passenger footboards on the bike of the bike in lieu of the foot pegs. With the sale I am including the Hondaline Shoei helmet (size large) from 1975 that I got with the bike. The helmet has a sun visor, clear shield, and smoke shield. There is also a pair of yellow tinted goggles that have never been used. I believe these items were all purchased with the bike from the dealer. I also have a Honda shop manual for the bike and all of the original warranty paperwork as can be seen in the pictures. The bike has the original factory tool kit and tire pressure gauge installed under the rear trunk. There is also a Hondaline Silverwing motorcycle cover with the bike. The bike starts right up and rides like new. Since owning it I've changed all fluids and had no problems whatsoever. Since the bike was upgraded with the Hondaline accessories at the dealer, the key for the ignition does not open the trunks. As such there are 4 total keys with the bike. The only blemish on the bike is a hairline crack just below the headlight on the fairing as well as a scuff below the crack. I am not sure what this is from as it was on the bike when I got it. Other than that the bike is perfect and rust free. Any questions, just shoot me message and if needed I'll get you my phone number. The sale is not restricted to local sales only but you will have to arrange to pick it up from the Seattle are of Washington. I'll have a ramp available and persons to help if needed. Required method of payment is cash, cashiers check, or money order.
