Vehicle Detail
America was introduced to the Ford Mustang on April 17, 1964. Ford had an expectation of around 100,000 Mustangs to be sold in 1964; with over 417,000 1964 Mustangs being made that year. This Mustang was built in Dearborn, Michigan; where production first took place on March 9th, 1964. Dearborn, Michigan is the origianal city where the Mustangs were first built. Whats even better about this Mustang is that it was made less than a month after production began in Dearborn (April 07th, 1964) and 10 days before the Mustang was introduced to the public. It can be assumed that this was one of the FIRST Mustangs on the road in 1964. With history being on its side, and one of few driven in America on April 17th, this is the definition of a collector’s item when it comes to the Ford Mustang. It was restored in 1993 and we purchased it in 1996. While it is not fully known, there is an estimated 118,917 miles driven on this car. Since we purchased it in 1996, around 5,000 miles has been driven, mostly consisting of joy rides around the city, and parades for the state senator. Below are the data codes (also shown in pictures): Body: 76A Convertible, Standard Interior Color: V Sunlight Yellow Trim: 86 Black Crinkle Vinyl, Standard Interior Date: 07D April 07, 1964 D.S.O: 34 Indianapolis Axle: 1 3.00:1, Conventional Trans: 6 C4 Automatic The car has run very well since its restoration and has always been well taken care of since we purchased it, not even being in the rain. There are no dents on the car and only a few scratches. The main scratch being on the trunk (picture upon request by email). If you are serious about owning one of the first Mustangs built, we will be glad to take extra pictures and answer any questions that you have. We have over 30 more pictures that we do not mind sending. You can call Mark at 1-913-515-7856 (Cell).
