This is a very clean 1984 VW Vanagon Westfalia. It is a Wolfsburg edition. It has a manual transmission and a 1.9 liter water-cooled 4 cylinder engine. I am the fourth owner. I purchased this van on eBay in August of 2005. It has 91,599 original miles. It is a full camper that sleeps four adults, has a two burner gas stove, sink and refrigerator (all working). The van comes with all original owners manuals and the Bentley Official Factory Repair Manual. It also comes with two tables, an awning, all original curtains (including the front for privacy while camping), a snap-on fly screen for when the back is open, and the bra. The AM/FM radio is equipped with a CD player. The van is located in Key West, Florida which is the southernmost city in the US and would be a great starting point for an amazing VW road trip for someone! On a side note, I purchased this van on eBay myself so I know firsthand that buying a vehicle from a great distance away (van was in NC when I purchased it) can be a scary experience. For that reason my descriptions will be rather lengthy so that all is disclosed, and you can feel comfortable with placing a bid. Keep in mind, this is an amazing VW that runs fantastic and looks gorgeous, but again I know what it is like to make this kind of a purchase online and therefore want to list every detail that I can. If there is something that I have overlooked and you have a question about, feel free to ask. EXTERIOR: The van's two-tone paint is original. It is in great condition and still shines beautifully. On the front the paint is somewhat dulled, I tried waxing but ended up buying a bra (purchased on GoWesty.com). There are a few minor scrapes, and minimal rust, which is normal for a 26 year old car. The fiberglass top is in excellent condition, pop top works perfectly (no leaks or tears) and has a front vent that can be unzipped to allow fresh air in (has a fly screen). All of the glass is in good condition with no water leaks. Front and back wipers both in good working condition. Living in South Florida I tinted the windows when I purchased the van. The Florida sun can be brutal and the tint on the front windows is coming off a bit. The front bumper has some surface rust and the rear bumper was painted black by the previous owner. The rear bumper also has a small dent from where I reversed into a car 4 years ago. The factory undercoating is still on the frame. The tires all have matching VW labeled hubcaps, approximately 80% tread left and were recently rotated. INTERIOR: The seats are in good shape with normal wear and tear. There are what appear to be a few small cigarette burns in the driver's side carpet from a previous owner (I do not smoke) and a few minor stains on the interior carpet. All of the seating and curtains are original and in really good condition. The rear seat folds down to make a double bed and the when the top is popped, a double bed unfolds. Both beds are in excellent condition and quite comfortable. The dash does have some sun cracks on the passenger's side but overall is in good shape. All of the gauges (except RPMs) and all dash lights are working. The RPMs may be a simple fix, I never looked into it since its not a necessity. The important gauges such as gas, speedometer and the temperature are all working. The rear interior light is original and working. The front interior light is an addition from the previous owner and is very useful. The refrigerator (with original ice tray), 2 burner gas stove, and sink all work and are spotless. The van comes with 2 tables both in excellent condition and an awning (which I have never used). The front seats can spin around to use a table. The rear view mirror was replaced by the previous owner and appears to be homemade, but works great so I never replaced it. MECHANICS: ***THIS VAN HAS 91,599 ORIGINAL MILES!*** Everything mechanically is in good working order. In fact she purrs like a kitten! The following is work that I have had done since owning her: new clutch, new brakes, new head gaskets, new pressure plate, new rear wheel cylinders, all new hoses in the engine, and rebuilt injectors. Hence she should be maintenance free for the next owner. The AC currently is not running. My mechanic (who can be contacted if you have any questions) has told me that the AC hose needs to be replaced and then recharged which could be done for around $300-400. I have not done this since I am selling the van anyway. REASON FOR SELLING: I purchased this vehicle 5 years ago (on eBay) when living in Naples, FL. I had planned on moving to California and driving my Westy cross country. As it turns out I got sidetracked along the way and ended up in Key West, FL. I love it here and am not leaving. I have a work vehicle already and do not get to do many weekend getaways as it’s a 3 hour drive just to get to the mainland! I will miss her, but cannot use her for what she is intended for. Key West, being the southernmost city in the US, would be a great starting point for an amazing VW adventure for someone!
