Well, here you have the result of an optimistic father providing his teenage daughter with a really cool car. Unfortunately said daughter also inherited her father’s weighty right foot. The rest is simple math. Too much speed + decreasing radius exit ramp + spring thunder shower = a close encounter of the Armco kind. The repair estimate is roughly equivalent to the retail value of the car and since we didn’t have collision insurance I can’t afford to fix it myself but its way too nice to send to the junkyard. I bought her a slow, boring Accord to replace the Subi and now I hope someone will give the Subi a second lease on life. You can see the damage to the left front corner. The detail pics show that the wiring harness that runs inside the left fender was not damaged. There is also slight damage just behind the rear wheel (see pics). The impact registered as a glancing blow so there was no airbag deployment front, side or head curtain. The interior is super nice with no tears or fading. The engine is strong at 175k miles and the automatic transmission shifts smoothly and firmly. This bone stock (no fast and furious molestation) 2002 WRX is one of the nicest ones you’ll find… except for that whole Armco against the fender thing. I have clear title in hand.
