Vehicle Detail

Custom 1966 Triumph Bonneville The frame is a 66 with all unnecessary mounts and tabs removed. I built the hardtail with only about 1" to 2" of stretch and gives the bike a nice tight look. The forks have been shortened and MCM covers installed. Stock 18" rear wheel with a Dunlop K70 tire. Recently swapped the sprocket/drum to a chromed 43 tooth for better highway riding. It cruises nice at 70mph. Front wheel is a 21" with a small brake and the tire has some weather cracks. The engine is a 64 Bonneville that I swapped the head to the single carb Trophy model for reliability and easy tuning. The complete engine was rebuilt 2 years ago and I resealed and checked the top end about 8 months ago when I tore it down for paint. It fires first or second kick and runs strong. The fuel tank is a Wassell or Hap Jones peanut tank. Cub model oil tank and a custom battery cover on the other side to match. New aluminum ribbed rear fender and chromed fender supports. I painted the bike and it looks good, but I am not a professional, so there are small imperfections. The kicker, shifter, and oil cap have been rechromed. I also built the narrow z bars and had them chromed. The solo seat is mounted on the taller barrel springs and was recovered with black tuck and roll vinyl. The headlight is a KD869 and the tail light is from a Model A Ford. All new cloth covered wiring and spark plug wires. The bike is running a battery with a Podtronics unit. As with any vintage Triumph, this bike requires maintainence and does leak a little oil. This bike is a rider and shows signs of wear and use. It was featured in Greasy Kulture Magazine (GKM) issue 14. The bike is titled, registered and insured in my name. I will have it at the Mooneyes show this weekend if anyone is interested in looking at it. And if you have any questions, feel free to ask! The bike is for sale locally and I reserve the right to remove the listing at any time. Buyer assumes all responsibility for pick up and/or transport. International bidders are welcome. If you have 0 feedback or negative feedback you must contact me first. On Jul-19-10 at 10:26:53 PDT, seller added the following information: I have added some pictures of minor paint chips and blemishes. And a picture of the chrome rear sprocket on it now.
