Vehicle Detail
1986 Honda VF1000R (Interceptor) The bike features a liquid cooled V-4 engine with gear driven cam shafts. This bike is in very good to excellent condition. There are no scratches, cracks, or breaks in any of the body work. The only flaw with any of the body panels is on the very rear cowl, the paint had been rubbed through where a pack had shifted and caused the blemish. (see picture) There are a few minor scratches to the fork sliders. The bike runs great, front tire is new, rear has about 1,000 miles on it. The bike is ready to ride. I have owned the bike since 2003 and the only issues I am aware of with the bike is. 1) the rear chain guard is missing. 2) the cable that changes the rear shock damping setting needs replaced. ( I bought the bike with these issues and never looked for a replacement chain guard and never bothered with the damping setting cable as there is little difference between the settings. The shock is adjustable with air pressure too) and finally 3) the horn itself needs replaced or it might just need adjusted,(switch is fine and the horn is getting power, I just have not done this as the horn itself is kind of buried and I haven't taken the time to address.) I'm starting the auction at $3,000 with no reserve. These bikes are fairly rare and are somewhat collectible and this example would not take much to restore to like new show room condition where I have seen examples sell for $5,000 or more. Please e-mail me with any questions.
