1961 Impala survivor. This is a great car. I am selling this for the orig. owner. He is 90 years old and no longer drives. It has been a California car all it's life and is orig. paint, interior etc with no rust. The glass is as nice as I have seen. As you can see from the pics he took very good care of the car. There are chips etc in the paint but in my opinion this is a car that should never be painted. Just do some gentle cleaning, wax it and drive it. It runs perfect. It is a 283 with a 4 bbl carb and a powerglide trans. I'm sure the drivetrain is orig. to the car. The car has 80,000 orig miles. Carpet needs cleaning but is not worn. windows roll up and down effortlessly. Most weatherstrip is still soft. This is one of those cars that when you look at the little nus, bolts, details etc you say "wow". The car still has a build sheet glued to the inside of the passenger fender. Still under the orig. 1961 Ca. title. I'm not making ay money from this sale, just helping out. This will make someone a great car. I would not be afraid to drive it across country as is. Some dings etc won't show up in the pics easily but I can take more pics if someone gets serious about owning it. There is one small spot on the bottom of the passenger side rocker where a hole was cut for some reason. This is not a car that has been dead in storage for 20 years. It has been maintained and registered all it's life. It is currently registered. Usually when you find a car in this condition it is a 4 door or ugly colors etc. This is a 2 door hardtop, white with red interior ! Priced very fairly and please don't ask the reserve. Car is in Northern Ca. It needs to go to someone that will preserve it as it is. This car would be very welcome at a survivor car show. 500.00 Paypal deposit due within 48 hours of end of auction. I could have steam cleaned all of that off but I think it is important to show the car as is and show that nothing has been fluffed. That is 50 years of grunge. On Jul-08-10 at 20:29:30 PDT, seller added the following information: In answering lots of questions I have found a spot of overspray on stainless trim below the rear window. I can't find any damage but I also can't claim all orig paint anymore. Sorry. I tried to add pics but I'm at my limit and since there are bids the pics can't be changed.
