Please let me know if you have any further questions. about this car: This ALL ORIGINAL convertible belonged to my grandparents. My grandparents always kept this car in the machine shed near Ames, Iowa. They drove it in the local Norwegian Parades every year. Every summer they would also drive it to town for coffee. If you buy this vehicle, I can provide you with the complete history of the vechicle. My grandmother and father know all about the family history of the vechicle. My grandma would sometimes drive this car on her Avon route, selling perfumes. In mint condition this car blue books for $38,000 at N.A.D.A. The DMV says it is worth $21,000, unless you have bill of sale showing what you paid. The mileage is actually 108,000 original miles. The car runs like new and runs smooth. The electric top works perfectly. I just installed new plugs, wires, distributer cap, condensor, points, Dura Gold battery, starter, and ignition switch. I also installed a new brake line on the rear and the brakes work good. You will need to bleed the brakes though, to make them work perfectly. I also used cleaners and conditioners on the original vinyl seats. The original seats are in near perfect condition. The rear tires are also brand new. I spent a few hundred on the two rear tires. The rims are original and the spare tire is even the original spare. This car is in excellent original condition. It wasn't out in the snow and salt, since it was used as a recreational car. You will be very happy when you start it up and see how smooth it drives. It's like driving a brand new car. The engine runs smooth and is also very quiet. Even the muffler is in good condition. Please contact me if you would like to see more photos of this classic car. As you can see in the photos I posted, this car is clean and has very little surface rust, as seen in photos. The photos are not the greatest and as you can see, I didn't clean the car up too much...I'm saving that for the new owner. I think that's the best part of buying a classic car like this..polishing it up and making it yours and making it come alive again. I hope this car goes to someone who will take good care of it. The Convertible Top: If you plan to put a new top on the car someday, they do have them for as low as $150 online. For $150, you have to sew the back window into the top yourself. Then the price goes up to $225 to have a plastic window sewed into the top. And for $275 they sew a glass window in the top for you. Most people say to have someone put the top on for you, it's 1 or 2 thousand. You can even have them just sew the window in for less also. However, the top does not leak and never has. The glass back window just came out of the stitching, so I replaced it with the thick plastic from the fabric store, for now. The car looks really sharp with the top down. NOTE TO ALL BUYERS: THIS CAR HAS BEEN LOWERED TO ONLY $3,499 due to a short. Fix this short and have a car that drives like a brand new boat! Note to help you fix the car: I was driving the convertible around about a month ago and it was running like new. When I put in the new battey in, it sparked. I did just install the new starter and tuned it up. I also put in a new ignition switch..just the piece the key goes into.. VIN number is also available upon request. This car is sold As Is and we accept CASH ONLY for local pick ups. Payment and pick up is required within the first 7 days of winning the auction. Thank you. Please email, call or text 309-948-1080. Please leave a message if I do not answer.
