Vehicle Detail
1998 BMW Z3 convertible needs a head gasket, other than that the engine is in fine condition ran great before overheating will run and drive a short distance before overheating good tires, good top, new rear window manual transmission, tight was garaged since new has a few normal chips and scrapes, has a bit of frayed fabric on one seat, nothing major, see the photos any questions call denis 816-560-3641 On Jul-03-10 at 07:52:35 PDT, seller added the following information: There are several paint chips on the rear bumper and a few on the front bumper and the airconditioner does not blow cold, the brakes are good, it does start right up, though i would not recommend running it for more than 30 seconds since it has a blown head gasket. it has a timing chain not a belt, therefore it does not need to be changed, the windows do roll up and down, the power locks work, the remote control on the radio does work. thank you for the many questions. please do ask any question, I will answer any inquiry. you may see it in person in Kansas City after I return from vacation on 7/6. On Jul-09-10 at 11:31:12 PDT, seller added the following information: The car was purchased in 2002. There was a 10 mph collision in 2003 in which the other vehicle sustained no damage, but the bmw got a new bumper, hood and radiator. There is no evidence of the damage at this time. I ordered a new plastic rear window, if it does not arrive by the time the car is picked up after the sale, i will deduct 200 from the sale price. The car starts and runs. The only problems are 1) that the blown head gasket allows compressed exhaust into the cooling system. when you open the radiator cap compressed air escapes. 2) you can smell coolant in the exhaust fumes. The car will be sold as is with no guarantee as to the repairs required to fix it, whether it is a head gasket, a muffler bearing, the radiator rods or the bivalve firearm. It is a BMW convertible Z3, the best looking sports car ever.
