Hello and thank you for your interest. Used police cars easy to find, good ones are not. By viewing this listing, you have found a good one. I spent some time searching the mid western states to locate a p-71 in great condition like this one. This unit was purchsaed new and used exclusively by a county sheriff's dept. in the state of Iowa. Upon my purchase, I was assured this was a one officer assigned "take home unit" There are many features and clues to support this fact. I bought this car last august for just over $7,000 with 98,000 miles. I paid a commercial carrier $2,000 to have it safely transported to my upstate NY location. Please be assured, this car has never seen even one day of a new york winter. It has been heated garage kept, and treated more as a hobby car than an every day driver. The car is spotless inside, outside, and underside. This car is a pleasure to drive. Very powerful, smooth, quiet, and fast. The handling is tight and responsive. Everything works. There are no adverse issues. It is rust free. The paint,glass,body and interior are excellent. There are very few light scratches and wear areas throughout, much less than often seen. The car now has 102,858 miles. At apx. 100,000 miles the transmission began to slip. Im told that this is common, and the only real problem to expect at this mileage. I immediately had the transmission rebuilt by a local reputable ATRA certified rebuilder. The cost was apx.$2000. This work is warranted for 1yr. or 12,000 miles, ( transferable ) The job was done right; the rebuilder showed me the badly worn friction discs at the drive clutches. It's all new now, feel's and works great. While in the shop, many comments were made in regard to the outstanding condition of this car. Among the many improvements I have made are as follows; New semi metalic brake pads, new heavy duty battery,K&N filters throughout, 4 tires,GoodYear p225 70r 16 RSA plus aramid (Kevlar puncture resistant ) Speed rated (H) with 3 matching spares (1 mounted), all owners books & manuals, the correct scissors jack & tire tool, locking center console, The glass was professionally solar tinted (dark) all but the windshield. This work is warranted for life, ( transferable ). It can be removed if need be. Here are some special features found on the CVPI: 4.6 efi. sefi.ohc. Police special V8. 5speed automatic trans. with overdrive,transmission oil to air cooler, power steering fluid cooler, air induction system, engine oil cooler, high output 200 amp generator ( 132 amp at idle) heavy duty battery, high cap. cooling system,20 gal.fuel tank, chrome full wheel covers, 3.55 limited slip rear diff. A high speed balanced aluminum matrix drive shaft, Watts linkage rear suspension, nitrogen charged monotube shocks, dual stainless steel exhaust system, speed sensitive power rack and pinion steering, SLA front suspension ( all aluminum ), heavy duty body to frame mounts, front and rear stabilizer bars, dual sway bars, four wheel power disc ABS brakes, EEC calibration with increased idle speed, certified calibrated 0-140mph electronic speedometer, police acc.feeds in trunk and under hood, emergency fuel shutoff valve reset in trunk, RR fender mounted radio antenna, carpeted trunk with light and power acc. port, driver side exterior mounted spot light, head liner mounted "ticket light" engine block heater. Some standard features; Manual parking brake release,brake shift interlock, rear wheel drive,power windows with drivers side express down, power locks, power drivers seat with power lumbar adj., fabric bucket front seats with stab plates, fabric rear bench seat, full carpet through out, tilt wheel, power mirrors, child safety locks, aux. power outlets, dual air bags, 6 speaker am fm cassett sound, full analog gauge cluster, locking lighted glove box, front door map pockets, rear floor mounted hvac.ducts, rear window defrost, front defroster with inttegral vertical ribs, ice cold air cond. smokers pkg. ( never used ) cup holders, The paint is Fords arizona beige met.; cloth int. is also tan and beige, carpet is tan. In my opinion, these are the only non disposable American made rear drive cars. Its a known fact that livery and taxi co's. use these cars, and with regular routine maintenance achieve upward of the million mile mark. Im selling this car due to my need for a new truck.
