We are getting ready to move across the US and I have a 99 Chevy Malibu that needs an engine block. 162,000 miles. The car had overheating issues due to a head gasket that had blown. I replaced the heads with brand new and rebuilt the top end. The car still ran rough though. Took it to chevy dealership and they recommended an oil pump. After installing the new oil pump the engine block locked up (bearings, crank or pistons, not sure which). It now needs the lower block rebuilt. I did find a rebuilt block for $650 with exchange, but I do not have the time to replace it with our upcoming move. Car also needs a set of front tires. Car has salvage title.
