Vehicle Detail
The bike has been sitting and is currently very dusty as you can see in a couple of the pictures. I removed some foam from the seat so I could reach the ground. The other pictures show what it looks like when it's been detailed and it cleans up very nice. There are no major scratches and no dents, just normal wear and tear for the age. It is all original except the exhaust pipe which was modified using the original bracket and the ignition has been moved (not by me). It runs great when the carbs are adjusted correctly, no knocks or anything. The battery is down from sitting in the garage. I have the title but it's an off road title that is open for both name and date of purchase. I never got it tagged in my name, was going to this summer but I can't afford to fix the clutch or get the carbs adjusted. It was ridden last summer on back roads and ran fast! until the clutch slipped. The bike also needs a starter solenoid which is about 30 bucks online. The tires are not great. The right side mirror is broken (was that way when I got it) and it needs the headlight bucket, assembly, and headlight as well as side covers. I bought the bike without any of those included. I have the original book that came with it (under the seat) and the wiring diagram but not the tool kit. It will need fork boots and front blinkers. The bike only needs minor tlc to run great again and be street legal. I let someone who has been riding for about 30 years take it for a putt last fall on back roads just to get his opinion and he was blown away by how fast this little bike is... **The buyer is responsible for shipping costs and arrangements, etc, to take possession of the motorcycle. I have no way to haul it and wouldn't begin to know how to ship it. I prefer cash but will accept a personal check, money order, or cashiers check with the stipulation that I hold the bike until the check clears which I am told, can take up to 10 days or more. Once it clears, I'll give the bike a good bath and get it ready for your shipping arrangements. **There is a fairly low reserve on this motorcycle.... On Jun-28-10 at 10:41:21 PDT, seller added the following information: On Jun-28-10 at 11:33:24 PDT, seller added the following information: The metal vin tag on the motorcycle says 1972 CB500 and the title says 1973. So, I assume it was manufactured in the second half of 72 and sold in 73....Although I never tagged it in my name, I did run it through the court house. It was last registered to the guy I bought it from who purchased it on 04/13/2004 and the vin number does match. The mileage was 0001035 at that time. When I bought it the guy had lost the title and it took him about a year to get me a duplicate title which was printed 04/13/2009. There are no liens and it is a Kansas non highway title that is open. Which means that it is clear to add your name, date of purchase, etc, and it has been signed by the guy I bought it from. I believe there were only 3 owners of this motorcycle including myself. On Jul-02-10 at 08:43:07 PDT, seller added the following information: The reserve price is set at $450.00 Happy 4TH of July!
