Vehicle Detail
1969 Datsun Roadster 2000 I have owned it the last 23 years. The car had approx 100k on it when I bought it. Since then, I have put about 9k on it. This is whats been done to the car through the years. Car is in great shape for a Roadster a Little more TLC and it would be all but perfect. I have spent a lot of time and money thru the years getting this car to this state, just dont have the passion or time anymore and need to pass it on. Engine: rebuilt approx 9k ago, all ports were cleaned up to remove shrouding. Schneider 260/270 split duration cam. Header. Carbs rebuilt with new bushings, distributor rebuilt with re-curved springs and weights. Electronic ignition conversion. New timing chain components, chain and tensioner. All hoses replaced. Exhaust was replaced with original piping and mufflers. All new mounts. Car runs strong. Trans: 5 spd. Rebuilt with new syncros on 1&2, replaced 1st gear. New bearings and seals throughout. Running mobil 1 80-90w. New clutch and hydraulics. Flywheel resurfaced. Rearend: axle bearings and seals replaced also running mobil 1. Rear leaf springs had bushings replaced. Suspension: Frt rebuilt, new ball joints and a-arm ends, new tie rods, steering box rebuilt with new brass bushing. Nismo frt sway bar and urethane bushings. KYB gas shocks frt and rear. Brakes, all rebuilt calipers and replaced master and rear cylinders. Rotors and drums turned, new hoses. Interior: Black- new door panels ,new carpeting, seats recovered and new rear deck, rear deck panels all replaced and door panels replaced. Drivers seat does have wear from getting in and out. Seat frames and rails blasted and powder coated. Misc: New gas tank sender, electric fuel pump and aux fuse box, electric fan. I didn’t want to cut into wiring for the electric fuel pump or electric fan so I added a painless wiring Aux fuse box with 4 new leads to keep it simple and clean. Added fusible link. New dash pad and console cover as well as top bow cover. Top Bow is in great shape. Heater core and radiator reworked. Thermal fan switch added comes on at 185f and off at 150f, no overheating issues or concerns like the original. All new weather stripping and window liners. Exterior: Stripped, epoxy primed and painted in 2000, all rear lights replaced including reverse lights, new chrome headlight buckets with baskets. New gas keyed gas cap, re-chromed door handles. Bumpers straightened and rechromed. Top: Tonneau cover (Blk), Car has spent all its life with me in the Tonneau cover so I am including (1) brand new convertible top blk—unopened, ready to install with new fasteners. Paint: Spanish red, the original color. Body work was done 10-12 years ago, these cars are not rust free in the best cases. This body is about as rust free as its gets. However, Car is starting to show some minor rust but its been a southern car for all its life and has been garaged the last 20yrs. When the body work was done the rust was cut out. Known trouble area--The panel in front of the rear wheels, that panel was cut out and replaced and was resealed and is great today. All other areas are solid. Paint has a few dings from the garage—the shop light caught it on the panel under the drivers door and its chipped there but no panel damage. Other items: Front grill isn’t perfect but in great shape same with the molding and hub caps a perfectionist would have these reworked or rechromed but not necessary. Wipers seem to be slow. Tach sticks occasionally.. But, both speedo and tach cables have been greased and replaced. Welcome to a 40yr old car. If you have been shopping for a roadster then you know all of these issues are classic Roadster. Stock radio included, don’t know if it works as I didn’t put speakers back in the car when I redid it. Roll bar included, fresh Black wrinkle power coating. If you have questions just ask! Before you buy is the time for due diligence. I can provide a contact to have the car delivered, but that is your responsibility and your negotiation. This car is not sold with any warranty of any kind. The car is sold AS-IS. A $500.00 non refundable deposit must be made within 24 hrs of auction end. The remainder must be paid via certified bank check, cash or USPS Money Orders within 5 days of auction. The car and title will be released once the funds have cleared my bank. Please make this a pleasant experience. You can see from my feedback that I am an honest seller and I expect that from the buyer. I reserve the right to end this auction at any time for any reason. The reserve is very reasonable for a car in this condition so bid with confidence
