Vehicle Detail
1969 Pontiac Trans Am clone. Total restoration completed in 2008, the car was sandblasted and was a full rostisserie restoration. This was copied from 1 of 8 real convertibles made with the triple white combination (white body, white interior and white top) and every attempt was made to come as close as the original in this restoration. Visit this website to find information on the "real" Trans Am this car copies http://www.firebirdgallery.com/69talot1.htm. The list of new parts used in this restoration is too much to list here but here is a brief explanation of what was done in the restoration process. Steel reinforced fiberglass hood with authentic ram air scoops. No hood pins needed, works on original latch. The ram air scoops are also already installed under the hood. All new chrome throughout the entire car. New convertible top with glass rear window. New door skins. New inner and outer quarter panels. New driver's and passenger side floor panels. New exhaust to original factory specs with authentic single transverse mounted muffler. New original ram air exhaust manifolds. Totally rebuilt 400 ci engine. Rebuilt 4 speed M21 transmission. New interior door panels, seat upholstery, carpet, 1969 Trans Am authentic steering wheel, radio and many other interior parts. The underneath of the car was painted in black basecoat and then cleared with a matte clearcoat. The underneath of the hood, firewall, radiator support and fender wells were also painted in basecoat black and cleared with a matte clearcoat. The outside of the car was painted in white and blue basecoat and clearcoated. The stripes are embedded in the clear and the edges cannot be felt to the touch. Authentic Trans Am rear spoiler. Pontiac front bumper emblem and authentic Trans Am front lower spoiler. Center console was just redone with new woodgrain decal. Rebuilt 10 bolt rear differential with 3:43 gears. Brand new front disc brakes, calipers and rotors. New windshield. As said before this car has undergone a total rotisserie professional restoration. There was very little rust on the front fenders and front fender wells and was repaired with new metal. The trunk floor had no rust. Every square inch of this car has been prepped and repainted including the interior under the dash, door panels and carpet. This car also has the original 4 gyros on the front and rear (see photos). This car also has the folddown rear seat with the panel behind the rear seat. Only about 100 miles have been put on this car since restoration was completed. The odometer says 42 miles on it now because it was replaced with a new one. The engine during it's rebuild had a stronger cam installed and is extremely healthy, reliable and fast, probably faster than the Trans Am was originally in 1969. Although not an original Trans Am, the quality of this restoration and the antique status of this car will always make it a sound investment and will at the minimum retain it's value which cannot be said of the stock market or real estate these days and the future owner of this car will not be disappointed. Call 570-966-1221 weekdays 8-5 pm or email any questions. Test drives can also be arranged and are welcomed! This is the 3rd time the car has gone on ebay in the last year and last fall peaks around $28-29K. This is being listed with no reserve and we are commited selling this car. Serious bidders only please and happy bidding!
