Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 94 Cougar. The only reason I'm selling this car is because I have two small children and it's a pain to get them in the back seat all the time. The only thing that makes this sale easier is the fact that I just bought a Marauder to replace it. I've owned this car since 1998 when I bought it with 53000 miles, I had never planned on getting rid of it. The car is in fantastic shape, and has never let me down. The car is mechanic owned, the good kind, not the guy who drives crap and just keeps it running. Everything mechanical that needed done is done. This car is a blast to drive, and gets about 19mpg around town and around 24/25 on the interstate. Here is a list of modifications: 18" Mustang looking rims with 245/45R18 Goodyear Eagle F1 tires; have about 5000 miles on them, like new Eibach lowering springs, installed with new struts and shocks Mustang GT front calipers and pads Original transmission replaced with custom built 4R70W. Has built in shift kit, mustang mach1 valve body, marauder torque convertor, custom tail shaft lube mod, additional clutch packs. Built to handle just over 400 horsepower. Original trans didn't fail, the pan bolts stripped out when removing pan for filter change. I thought that would be a good excuse for a performance trans. True dual exhaust from JBL chrome headers back, using Magnaflow X pipe resonator back to 2 Magnaflow mufflers In 2002 I installed (I'm an ASE certified auto tech) the Allen engine development 5lb supercharger kit. Even back then this cost me 4100 bucks. It's a complete system from high flow fuel pump to water to air intercooler. I have put about 20000 miles on the car since then and have never had a problem with it. The car is in great shape cosmetically, with only normal rock chips, etc., always stored winters. The interior is spotless, looks like new. I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. As with any 16 year old car there are things that don't work and I havent gotten around to fixing. AC has worked for about 3 of the 12 years I've owned it, it has 2 big windows. The lights are out on the climate control (the really weird lookin guys that are a pain to find). The washer fluid pump has never worked, and I've never cared. The horn works once in a while. The driver seat motor won't move forward or back, it's all the way back. I'm 6'5" and I'm the only person who drives it, my wife is 5'6" and she says it isn't that bad to reach the pedals. The part is no longer available through Ford and aftermarket doesn't have it. And finally the voltage regulator in the alternator is erratic, jumping between 14 and 17 volts, this is really just annoying to watch on the instrument panel, its had the same battery for the last 8 years so it's not affecting battery life. Included with auction will be the Ford service manuals, a deluxe car cover, and any of the old rims the winner wants If the winning bidder wants the alternator replaced I'll do it for the cost of the part, $120. If the reserve is met the 18" wheels go with the car, if not you'll get 16" XR7 wheels that are powdercoated gray. Both sets of wheels have good tires. Obviously the chrome wheels were expensive and they'd be easy to sell seperately. The reserve is very reasonable considering the condition of this car. Please contact me with any questions. On Jun-12-10 at 21:10:54 PDT, seller added the following information: After reading my post I realized I should have mentioned that the car leaks no fluids of any kind, the car is dry as a bone underneath. And I said it has a supercharger but I didn't give a horsepeower estimate ( never been dynoed ), 320 would be a conservative estimate. I rarely ever floored the car but it did beat my brothers 2006 Maxima in a race, anyone who's driven one of those knows they're no slouch. Never seen a Cougar this this old in this nice of shape, the reserve is less than the buy it now so get a good one. The reserve is very reasonable, this car is too nice to give away. Good luck, you won't be disappointed.
