i am selling a lotus eclat. this is one of only 1200 ever made and is the only lotus ever made with a back seat. engine runs incredibly strong. drives like a race car. cornering capabilty is only exceeded by formula 1. very simple mechanically. this is one of less than 100 on the road today anywhere in the world. that is still operational. it is the fastback version of the Elite. the Elite and the Eclat are the only 4 passanger Lotuses ever built. just over 26k original miles on the car and motor. it has a 2 liter, 4 valve/cylinder, all aluminum twin overhead cam lotus engine. $1200 dellorto twin carb upgrade for 155hp. first engine to achieve 1hp/cu. in. 2100 lbs weight gives acceleration equal to 310hp, 4200lb vehical. 25 mpg in normal driveing. 4 speed floor race shift, manual. interior front seats are all original they have been covered by sheep shins. back seats are in great shape as well. look at pics. original lotus yellow paint, all fiberglass body has never been damaged. has original foam bumpers on car. (very rear for the car to have on it). pertronix flamethrower coil and flamethrower pointless ignition system. new battery. airpump removed for better engine access. i hate to have to sell this car. believe me when i tell you it purrs like a kitten at over 110 mph on the highway. and hits corners like nothing you have ever been in befor. it is a lotus so it has its quarks. added an extra cooling fan for the motor. the faster you go the cooler the motor runs but it hates to sit in traffic. some switches work when they want to, they have an attitude. but i always win, ha ha. head lights are manual for up at night driving. and as the car sitts and sleeps the lights will slowly open. i think it just wants to make sure no one is around. when you start it up they suck back down and close. i have tons of books and records for the car. even the original shipping from england. the plack. if you are looking for a great extreemly straight lotus that is one of less than 100 still driving than this is it. it has a great motor that runs very very strong and will blow about everything else off the road. i am selling do to being layed off and need the money out of it. i am spending around 10k every two months in the docs office. no insurance and i was in a bad accident. i do hope that the car goes to a great home or show room to be seen by and respected. i would be willing to end the auction if you were to make me a reasonable offer and the moneys were wire transfered in full.
