Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1991 Toyota MR2 N/A 5 speed 2.2 litre. Please read the ENTIRE ad before bidding! This one needs some work! Ok so first off yes the car runs and drives and actually runs pretty darn good! all the gears are smooth and no grinds but it is getting air into the coolant system somewhere. where that is i have no idea. What I can tell you is that the head gasket, water pump, timing belt, and valve stem sealed were all just done. Also the head WAS machined at a machine shop. this was done because it was overheated and diagnosed as a head gasket problem. Im really starting to think it is not because its doing the same thing.... I ran the compression test and all cylinders were about 130 psi (keep in mind i am at 6000 feet elevation so compression numbers will be lower!) When it overheats the gauge does not go over half (well it hasnt for me because i didnt keep it running) but bubbles come out into the overflow tank. I dont have the time to fix or diagnose this problem so im selling it so someone else that has the time can fix her. It has an aftermarket clutch which is strong, a short throw shifter which feels great!, and a momo steering wheel (the air bag light is on due to taking the air bag and original wheel out) It fires right up and will run great but once in a while the idle is a little low. Im trying to be as honest as possible about this car so there are no issues when you pick it up! The interior is very clean for its age and has an aftermarket deck in it. There is only one small tear in the seat that you can see in the pictures. The body.... well its not so great.... it has hail dings all over but mostly on the roof and rear engine/trunk lid I took pictures of this so you can see it, also paint faded as you can see. I would do some PDR work and have it repainted (keep in mind this is a 20 year old car!) has nice enkie wheels and decent tires (one wheel has some curb rash please see pics) overall this would be a great car with a little TLC or fix it and sell it. listing @ 0.01 no reserve! highest bidder takes ! if you have any questions at all please feel free to ask I will respond within the day. It has a clear carfax with no accidents reported etc etc which i can provide to the winning bidder. If you are local in colorado you can prob drive it home as i drove it home myself with no overheating issues but i heard the bubbles when i pulled up to my house. All the work that was done was by the previous owner, i have some receipts for parts but that is it. A $250 NON REFUNDABLE deposit is due within 24 hours of the auction end via paypal! PLEASE DONT BID if you are not going to buy I really dont have the time to deal with non paying bidders! When fixed this car can easily sell for $3k-$4k this is a great deal at no reserve!!!! Also this is an original colorado car so you wont find any body rot or salt damage on this one :) I have a CLEAN AND CLEAR title in hand. Thanks for looking and good luck!!!!!On Jun-18-10 at 22:50:25 PDT, seller added the following information: hey there everyone, i have already gotten a ton of emails about this car. first off, if you email me i can email you the copy of the clean carfax for free as it has more detailed information than the autocheck report (which scores low because of the number of owners which i find kind of strange). second i can not assist with finding a shipper but i WILL make sure im here for the shipper to pick it up if you want it shipped! any other questions please ask i will answer with the best of my knowledge! thanks for all the interest. On Jun-19-10 at 19:14:35 PDT, seller added the following information: i have been asked a few times so i will post the answer here. NO the T tops DO NOT LEAK! we just had some good rain here last week and not a drop in the car! i have the shades for the t tops too thanks!
