Vehicle Detail
1975 AMC Pacer X AMC debuted the Pacer in 1975. Color is AMC's "Pastel Blue", the same color as the 1976 Pacer used in the movie "Wayne's World". The story: I purchased this car about three years ago with intentions of restoring it to the max. Shortly afterward I lost my job to the economy. Bottom line, I can neither afford to restore it or keep it. The previous owner resided in southeast PA. He told me that it was a Florida car and papers I found corroborate this. Somewhere along the line, the trunk section was replaced (they did a great job). Tires are like new. Undercarriage is great. Here is the work I did: *New brakes all around *Transmission adjusted and serviced *New exhaust system *Front end alignment, wheels balanced *New battery *All new filters *Tune up (plugs, wires, timing, etc.) * Installed NOS radiator (boy, did I work hard trying to locate one of these!!) *Installed AMC NOS compass *Installed NOS drivers side chrome mirror *New floor mats * Replaced front parking light lenses w/ NOS lenses *New Pacer & AMC logos (NOS) Extra's Included *Purchased a rear bumper from a bumper exchange (still in package - goes with car) *Purchased new Pacer X side decals (still in package, goes with car) *Original poster size 1975 AMC Pacer ad * Pacer shirt patch Overall, this car is in remarkable shape for its age and runs great. I've taken it to local shows and driven it in parades and won several trophies. I really enjoyed hearing folks yell out "Wayne's World" as I drove in parades! What Needs Attention? *Several small rust spots are shown in the photos *Has air conditioner but does not work - never got around to trouble shooting it *Whoever painted this car messed up because the clear coat is lifting on several sections of the hood, roof and tail. the roof is the worst, where paint is rough. *Though the engine is mechanically sound, I had not the opportunity to make the engine or engine compartment "pretty" *Some water seeps into the car through the top of the windshield molding, drivers side *If it were me, I'd have the body work done (doesn't need much) and paint the entire car *Fuel gauge works intermittently (problem believed it to be electrical) * Right rear tail light has a crack in it. OK as is, but would look better if replaced *AM/FM radio 8 track player does not work I am as honest as the day is long and I've listed what I know. I loathe scammers and would NEVER intentionally deceive anyone for personal gain. I went out of my way to show detailed photos of problem areas. That said, the car is 35 years old folks - you know the drill. No warranty expressed or implied. I have no possible way of knowing if the mileage on the odometer is accurate, though the condition of the car would suggest that it is. Engine runs smoothly and burns no oil. Sale is final. Pickup/shipping is the complete responsibility of the winning bidder! If you are looking for a Pacer, this is a real beauty with great potential. It is driveable and has a current PA inspection through June of 2010.
