From what we could tell by looking at the car and viewing its history report, the car was purchased new right here in Texas in 1987 and driven by the car's original owner until the car was wrecked on the passenger's side rear in in 1991. It was then repaired and issued a rebuilt/salvage title here in Texas in 1991 and sold to the car's most recent owner. The car appears to have been repaired well as the car was only four years old at the time and as you'd imagine worth a pretty penny. We received this car from its second owner, an elderly individual from the Houston, Texas area. This car has been sitting for quite some time, garaged at the individual's hosue. We're not sure how long the car was sitting but the car was last inspected here in Texas for 1994 and last registered with Texas in 2001 meaning the car has more than likely received little to no use since 2001 or even as early as 1994. The car does start and idle but as a result of the car sitting for such a long period of time the car is in need of some considerable work to bring the car to a road worthy status. We have not had a formal estimate made on the car to get it fully functional as it's impossible to determine the full scope of work needed but I would expect that the car would need work on the throttle, carburetor, fuel system, brakes, air conditioning, turbo, convertible top motor, and other consumable rubber or plastic parts that would normally wear as a result of age. Don't buy this car expecting to hop in it and drive it away. It will need substantial work simply due to age and lack of use. I don't want to give you shell shock with this car. It's not like someone bought this car back in 1993 and beat the car up and abused it for 17 years. They simply didn't drive it! As you can see the car hasn't been registered since April of 2001 and inspected since April of 1994. The stickers themselves are in great shape showing the car has been garage kept as the stickers would have worn out due to sun exposure by now had they been kept outside! We did note the driver's side door did not double-lock so it is cracked a bit open but it is closed. A small adjustment to the lock is all that should fix it. The straps that hold the fuel tank in have been loosened but are still included in a complete state. As you can see the trunk still looks good! Take a look at how clean the doors are! The leather on the dash and woodgrain is showing some age related wear but nothing that would be considered out of the ordinary. Overall the car has been kept well given how long its been stored. Here's the view from the drivers perspective! Marvelous! The passenger's side looks great as you can see! Just look at the interior! The car's radio has been removed as you can see. The transmission selector and window switches appear to be working just fine. The miles are original! We did note from the Texas heat and humidity that the needles on the gauges have bent upwards. You should be able to excercise some care and bend them back. The sun visors still look great as you can see! Here's what will really impress you! You've got the car's original Maserati engine! This is the real deal! This car is turbocharged! The car does start and run! This car really is an opportunity! It's not often you get an opportunity to buy a rare car like this! Even the emission control plate is still intact! If you pay cash, you can pickup the vehicle immediately. If you pay by wire transfer the vehicle will be available for pickup once funds are available in our account. If you pay by bank check, you will have to wait nine (9) business days until the funds clear. Storage Terms: Once a vehicle has been paid for in full, we will store it free of charge for five (5) calendar days and at nineteen ($19) dollars per day after that. Liquidated Damages: In the event that the winning bidder refuses to honor his/her obligation to purchase the vehicle, we shall be entitled to liquidated damages from that bidder in the amount of two thousand dollars plus two hundred dollars per one thousand dollars of the total purchase price of the vehicle.
